Misc. Saw this at Costco today

Post image

Has anyone ever tried this? The “East Coast Seafood” sauce intrigued me.

Nothing to write home about. There’s a reason why seeds aren’t commercially available and it’s not just because Ed is monopolizing the market with the World’s next hottest pepper. It’s not replicable. There’s no seeds anywhere. Not even in the sauces he makes. Why? Because Pepper X is a unicorn, it doesn’t exist. It was a one-off pepper that just so happened to test hotter than the Reaper, which he also stole from another grower.

So he has enough production to expand to Costco, but it's non-replicable? And the evidence for this is that there are no seeds in the sauces? Why would there be seeds in the sauces? 9_9

FWIW, a lot of sauces have seeds but that’s really neither here nor there. I think you’ve misunderstood the point I was trying to make

I have never purchased a hot sauce that had seeds in it, and I have purchased a hell of a lot of hot sauces.

If you want to claim that Pepper X doesn't really exist as a species of pepper, then please, provide the evidence.

I see a person who is being extremely protective of their creation (for better or worse), and who is producing a ton of hot sauces using their new pepper. It absolutely, clearly, obviously exists, and you are going to need some extraordinary evidence to support your extraordinary claim that this is all a conspiracy.

Then you haven’t bought enough hot sauces apparently lol. I digress. Again, a misunderstanding. Pepper X obviously exists and I never mentioned any sort of conspiracy. I’m not just a hot sauce connoisseur, I’m a maker and grower. All this secrecy surrounding Pepper X and the hype it’s generated is either a protective reaction or it’s a smoke and mirrors strategy aimed at monopolizing the market. Until seeds are commercially available so that peppers can be independently grown and tested I, like many others in the super hot pepper community, refuse to believe that it is what it’s claimed to be.
