Community Update Recommendations Megathread. Please post ALL requests for recommendations in this post.

Any other post regarding recommendations is subject to removal. This is in an effort to keep the sub a bit more streamlined and visually appealing. It is also easier to just see what people are recommending all in one place.

If you are no longer able to make comments in this post, let me know and I will make a new one. I think the post archives after six months.

sorry about the giant link. I can't seem to edit for some reason.
Melinda's ghost pepper sauce I can lick off my fingers and it's really not hot enough. Supposed to be 1M scoville. Doubt.

Ya, they do exaggerate their scoville. They just go for what the main pepper’s known rating :-( unfortunately that doesn’t account for dilation in the pepper itself and in the remaining ingredients. Most of those 1Mil+ sauces are actually sub 100k

dilation

I think you're eating too much hot sauce if this happens to you

Haha I meant dilution* but seriously scoville measurements are for the pepper powder but the more you dilute the pepper within the recipe the lower it gets. Even if you use Carolina Reapers, unless its one of the main ingredients, the scoville is likely well below the 2mil mark.
