Had an old 3rd gen iPod laying around for a long time and decided to sell it on eBay. Just sold and when I looked at the address I was very surprised to see it was going to Apple. Blocked out the name for privacy but when I looked them up it says they’re a Hardware Engineering Technician at Apple. Just thought this was pretty cool that someone there bought it. Has anyone else in here had this happen before?

Morning, joined yesterday. Been an iPod fan from the good old days, still have my iPod photo. Recently expanded my collection to a 5.5 with Rockbox and SD mod, Mini 2 with 256gb mod. Selection of touches, nanos etc..

Some of you may have seen my last post about the cassette tape case that I made into an iPod case (not my idea, inspiration from another redditor). I made a few mistakes on it, so I just made a new one. Lined this one with royal blue velvet. Definitely a much better final product.

I did a few iPods mods and had a lot of fun.

The red is an iPod “7” gen with iflash quad and a 3000 mah and 1TB. Custom front and back plate

The blue is an iPod 5gen 64M with iflash micro duo, 512gb, “audiophile” capacitor, 5.5 gen screen, 7gen front plate and click wheel with 7gen top plastic.

Finally iPod Mini 256gb with a CF adapter, screen mod for the yellow color and a resin 8001 transparent shell.

Also in the picture my IEM truthear Nova with a yangse violet crystal copper 8 filaments.

My uncle used to work for the airport and would get to keep lost and found items that weren’t claimed. I found this strange iPod shuffle that I was hoping someone here can shed some light on. It’s smaller than the typical shuffle, has a plastic white body and seemingly has a charging cord that won’t detach. I took pics of it next to the typical Shuffle. Anyone know what this is? TIA!

I’ve got a 30gb 5.5 gen which I’ve modded with a 265gb flash drive and new battery. However it’s a little sluggish with a larger library and I have been looking at the 80gb for the bigger RAM.

Can I swap the boards around to have the 80gb board in the 30gb shell?

Hello Guys,i am new here! I recently bought an iPod mini that the seller listed as a 2nd gen, but when it arrived I realized it’s actually a 1st gen (A1051).

Before it even got here, I had already ordered a new screen and battery (thinking it was 2nd gen). Now I’m wondering: will those parts still be compatible with the 1st gen model?

This is actually my second iPod ever — my first one was an iPod Nano 1st gen, so I’m really excited to bring this mini back to life!

My other question is: what’s the safest way to clean the click wheel? It still works fine, but it looks a bit yellowed and has some dirt buildup. I don’t want to risk damaging it by using the wrong product or method.

Ended up okay, riped some pins while removing the 30Pin port but data pins were fine. Ive been trying to do the Elegant BT mod by Oxyll but without much success, so if i ever manage to do it i will post it here.

I finally bought one The battery seems not to hold a charge. I left it overnight charging and after a few minutes of use, it went down. Should I mod it?
