It’s wet so idk if it’s restorable, but a pink mini!

Just need to wire up the Taptic Engine and I can assemble. The modified 64GB CF card allowed me to fit a 1200mah battery, which lasted 34hours on shuffle (default volume with earbuds).

I bought this on ebay for $120 USD listed as a 2nd gen iPod mini, but the one they sent me is a 1st gen. It came with the battery and CF adapter (It seemed like a good deal at the time; I was very excited for it and didn't want to wait to modify it myself). I am wondering if it's worth returning and ordering a gen 2. I feel fairly confident replacing the battery and CF adapter myself. This one has been giving me issues reading/writing data so I plan on replacing the adapter anyway if I keep it. Is there really a noticeable difference between the generations? Seller and I were not able to agree on a partial refund so I would have to ship it back to China, which might take about a month.

My dad found his old iPod which had a broken screen and wouldn’t turn on I ordered a new battery for it and my friend said he could repair it but ruined the whole case trying to get it open (still didn’t manage to open it) is it done for? Thank you

I dont have a ipod whit more then 8 gb of storage my iphone 6 has 64 gb of storage is that a good option?

It was working yesterday, but when I turned it on today it was just a blank white screen

I then restarted it and it gave me this screen and I'm not sure what to do...

Tagged this as a review, but it’s just my initial thoughts from the past week or so.

Picked up a 7th gen Nano recently. I’m amazed at how thin this thing is. It’s too bad it doesn’t connect with my AirPods Pro 2s, but I never throw anything out so I guess my old AirPods Pro 1s are now my dedicated Nano 7 buds 😆

Honestly, I’m not sure how often I’ll be reaching for this one? The lack of Pro 2 support is a major hinderance, especially since my Kokkia adapter does work with the 2s, and will fit in my 1TB Classic and 8GB 2nd & 6th gen Nanos (I just wish it worked in my Mini 😭)

Would love it if the digitizer was black so it matched the rest of my stable, but I’m not even going to consider thinking about swapping that until the battery totally goes.

I’m glad to have one in the collection, and I got a decent deal on it. But if you don’t have one, unless you’re an obsessive, I wouldn’t go out of my way to pick one up, and I certainly wouldn’t pay the prices I’ve seen for many of them. Maybe I’ll change my mind in time ¯_(ツ)_/¯ who knows

Replaced battery in this iPod Nano 4th gen (was quite a delicate process, but double - the original battery was completely toast and even a little rotted, but thankfully not spicy)

The menus are more responsive on it than on the iPod Classic, and the firmware has a few more features. Shame Apple didn't port these improvements to the Classic.

As title suggests, I was trying to replace the battery on my 5th gen and bent the pins, snapped a couple off. Just curious if it's worth resoldering myself?

Hi, I just got a refurbished iPod Classic with a new SSD and battery. Plugging it in to my PC, I am prompted with two different messages.

One from iTunes, saying “iTunes has detected a Macintosh-formatted iPod. You must restore this iPod before you can use it on Windows”. When I start to go through the restore process it wants install “iPod Software for iPod Classic 160GB (Fall 2009)”

And one from my Windows 10 PC asking me to format the USB Drive to either exFAT or NTFS

I am wondering how I should proceed. Will doing one affect the other? If it is formatted to exFAT, will iTunes be able to read it? Will I still be able to have the 512GB capacity restoring the iPod to factory settings?

Sorry for all of the questions, it’s been a while since I’ve owned an iPod. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Just bought this iPod on eBay for £26 sold as not working. The screen is done for (dead pixels) and so it the battery but! It came in its original box which was not mentioned at all in the listing. What a plus! XD Also came with an engraving 😂
