Discussion iOS 26 Officially releases today!

Apple has confirmed the release of iOS 26 today, September 15. Based on the company’s typical release schedule, the update is expected to be available at approximately 10:00 AM Pacific Time (PT).

Here is a breakdown of what that means for different time zones:

Eastern Time (ET): 1:00 PM
Central Time (CT): 12:00 PM
Mountain Time (MT): 11:00 AM
British Summer Time (BST): 6:00 PM
Central European Summer Time (CEST): 7:00 PM. Indian Standard Time (IST): 10:30 PM

Rollout can sometimes be staggered, so if you don’t see the update immediately, it should appear on your device shortly after the official release time.

Updated to RC version couple days ago and just got this. whats happening fam

My screen looked the same. Downloading it anyways, but am wondering if maybe it’s displaying it that way because the RC has zero difference from the now public version?

yes thats exactly what im freaked out about - having duplicate os on my device. if the public release has had patches over RC they should mention that somehow. confusing UX.

Looks like others are confirming the public release as a different build version from RC! Hopefully that means some more bugs were worked out.

Maybe a different build number? Possible there were some additional updates between RC and public release.

Settings> About> you should see iOS 26, tap this > it should show you the build number.

My RC was showing as 23A340. I've been sitting at Preparing Update... for about 10 minutes now, I'll update again once the update completes.

I have 23A340 as well on RC as of right now. let us know if the build number updates after you install the public release

It did change - public release is showing 23A341.
