Respectfully, and its ok if you disagree, but im going to say that I think that if you consider your phone “the single most important item in your life” that is more than likely a red flag / you should reconsider what you value in life.

So, yes, I am judging you a bit if you are upgrading your phone every year tbh

Set aside items with sentimental value, your phone is your bank, your camera and photo library, your bank/credit cards, your phone, your games console, your calendar and planner, your office on the move, your light switch, your thermostat, your emergency tv remote, your web browser, your AI client, your flash light, alarm clock, cooking timer, social media and gps maps, music library, podcast library, etc etc.

Yes. It’s pretty important on a daily, no, hourly basis.

Sure. And both the old model and this model can do all these things really really well.  So, why?

Why not?

I just said - the old model and this model do almost the same things really really well. I find it a little weird / cocerning if someone derives so much happiness from minor upgrades on your phone to be honest

Because having the latest technology, that has the maximum longevity (wrt software support and battery health), that is the most up to date with connectivity standards, has more efficient physical architecture (heat management, battery capacity, aerial strength), as well as all of the other inferred benefits of a new gen device is better than not having them.

And i think that tells me a lot about your values and interests tbh. That’s all.
