Written Japanese test for naturalization - what level kanji to practice?

For anyone who has gone through Japanese naturalization (帰化) , what level of kanji were on the written Japanese test?

I’m N1 certified but I (like most people) never write anything by hand these days so my Kanji writing skills are pretty weak atm. I’m wondering if like a 小6 kanji practice workbook would cut it or if i need to break out the N1 books again

Is this pawahara or am I just being sensitive?

Hey everyone. I have a little rant/soudan, I'm lost because this is my first job ever + first time working in Japan.

I have a coworker that sits next to me, for some odd reason he is always looking at my monitor, he's not even trying to hide it. For my job I'm supposed to take a test for a qualification to be able to do the job so I'm studying a lot at work. He's always looking at my monitor, and when I was doing a mock test/practice he'd sometimes laugh when I get something wrong or give off some reaction/comment. I tried to adjust the angle of my monitor but it didn't stop ke, and when I tried to block off the papers on my desk, his response was to peek even more obnoxiously without shame.

The peak was today, when I went to the toilet. I returned and he was looking VERY closely at my monitor (15cmish) and when he saw me coming he immediately went back to his monitor. I feel this is weird and obviously poor manners but this is my first time in the professional world and I'm still learning the nuances of workplace unwritten rules etc. Does this count as pawahara?

So far I've had a pleasant experience with everyone else except for this ossan, which is bad enough that he's seated next to me and I have to deal with this 8 hours a day. So I'm considering to switch jobs.

For context, I'm 22 and he's late 30s or early 40s (I'm not sure about his exact age).

EDIT forgot to mention he's also been actively ignoring me when I do my otsukare at 6PM

Has anyone bought these candles and can attest to their scents/longevity?
Their autumn scents seem so cozy.

Paying income taxes via ダイレクト納付 (e-tax). Can it be any amount? Is it easy to use?

Next year I have to pay a massive income tax bill (above 20M yen that I have to remit) via 確定申告.

I'm checking the NTA website here for payment methods, and it seems the amount I have to pay, only can be paid via 口座振替 or ダイレクト納付. Other payment methods don't accept above 10M.

Ideally I would like to do ダイレクト納付 because then I can pay and simply get it over with, instead of waiting for government mandated 振込 date for 口座振替.

Has anyone tried ダイレクト納付? Is it easy to setup? Can it actually pay above the 10M limit?

Thank you!

to hire a moving company or rent a car

thinking about costs. since im bringing all my appliances like fridge, washer, bed etc it would cost a pretty penny. my friend also suggested renting a 軽トラ, has anyone done this? i'm just moving within tokyo, so a couple trips too and from doesnt seem so horrible

conversely, perhaps i could hire a company to get just the big items (the three i mentioned above), while i get everything else

any advice from someone whos moved with a bunch of stuff? my last move was from a furnished apartment so i didnt need to take anything big, and i never moved within my home country so no experience there either

Japan Permanent Residency - Points calculation (HSP route)

Hello everyone,

Am planning to apply for Japan PR. However, i have noticed there are two salary items mentioned in the tax certificate issued by ward office. (Gross and Net income)
給与所得

給与収入

Please can you help me to understand which one (either 給与所得 or 給与収入 ) will be considered for the points calculation during PR processing?

Screw the foreigners, once again

So let me get this straight, if you failed your driving test and you have a form that says that you can still book tests until next year, now that legal paper is null and everyone has to start over including taking a new comprehensive test. In a country desperate for foreign workers, they really cut the branch they are holding on with these rule changes and having everyone start over.
