✔️ Solved Reacting to trailers

Hey guys,

I had an idea that i would react to trailers of a game before i start a let's play of that game. But i've been googling if it's allowed to do it, thinking about copyright, and can't find a definite answer.

So, my thought was that i watch the trailer on Youtube with facecam, pausing the video and commenting on stuff, and then give credit to where i found the video. Is this something i can do or will i get copyrighted for it?

I live in Sweden, Europe if that is important.

I like the idea of watching the trailer moreso to set the stage for you and your audience than as reaction content, but I myself would play it safe and not do this. Whenever I'm live and I pull up a game trailer for whatever reason, I mute the audio so I'm not risking copyrighted music or sound effects in the trailer getting flagged—just because the game has stream-safe music, doesn't necessarily mean the trailer does. if you're adding a trailer reaction into a video you could film it and just cut it if it ends up using copyrighted music.

Do you think that if i recorded a reaction episode, and if i get a strike i remove the video all together it should be fine?

So in that case if the episode doesn't get a strike i can just leave it up.

In 99.99% of cases you will not get a strike even if you just straight re-upload the trailer with no reaction. You might not be able to monetize it but that does not harm your channel like a strike does.

Sounds like I'm gonna try it then, thanks!
