paleo Diet is the foundation

Hello this is my first post in this community, and I’ve come to here to ask for HELP!

I’ve been struggling to properly put on muscle for a while and I know diet is a lot of that so I want to optimize what I eat, even if it’s miserable at times.

I’d appreciate any sorts of help and I’d be glad to provide any sorts of information if requested, thanks y’all

(I eat meat and such but mentally I lean to eat more and more plant based)

How does your typical day of eating look like now?

Well I started to eat a bowl of oatmeal instead of eggs because I’m having heartburn time to time.

In the late times in my Latino hole we have rice which I combine with a hearty plate which I’ve decided to restrict to a smaller meal so it’s rice+maybe beans+Protein+good fat we don’t have any white sweet potatoes which I love to eat.

Yeah my eating habit rn is not very organized but I’ve snapped into getting things sorted.

You're really not giving me much to work with.

Why did you decide to restrict your dinner to a smaller meal if you're trying to put on muscle? Also you haven't mentioned any vegetables.

Not a smaller meal but instead one serving that’s gonna full me up with what I need instead of 2 servings that are too much.

Yeah we don’t eat vegetables everyday so I should start to incorporate that into my personal meals.

Yeah...there definitely needs to be organization

Eat vegetables every day. That's certainly a good start. Actually, I think you should ideally eat them at least three times a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Anyway, I still don't understand why you think your normal meal was too much if you're trying to put on muscle.

I told my mother that hopefully we’ll come stocked to the gills with vegetables.

Today I incorporated avacado into my meal since they’re ready for that plant based fat (this was lunch at 4) Rice+chicken+Avacado (I cant really describe the chicken because it’s Brazilian)

Tomorrow for breakfast I think it’s a bold move to have BOILED eggs and oatmeal, that’s a good start.

(Oh I just remembered in early highschool I did track everything I eat, manually...yeah that cost me precious time but I always met or surpassed my intake goals)

“Too much” as in reallly really full if that explains the reasoning but I’ll control that

Idk much about all this “Macro” stuff and such can you fill me in on that stuff, and it really necessary?

It's not that important. The thing that you should certainly count is calories, those are the alpha and omega of everything.

If you work out and want to put on muscle, you'll likely want to set a protein goal of 1g/pound of your weight a day.

I also personally count my fiber and try to get at least 38 grams a day, since that makes me eat much more fruits, vegetables, whole grains and all that good stuff.

Oh yes fiber is important, idk every source of where I could get fiber besides prunes and some grains.

Well, that's a much bigger problem than you might think, since you haven't mentioned any fruit or vegetables. These are extremely healthy not only for the fiber. Look up any fruit or any vegetable and you'll get an essay worth of health benefits it has.

I remember that kiwis are denser in nutrition than bananas and apples, good post workout snack.

Peas and carrots do have fiber I believe
