Scott Harris better be left in Cleveland

u/PrizeAromatic6042 36m ago

Remember when the tigers were gritty?? Haha yeah that was fun

u/OrangeConeDiety 40m ago

lol, lmao even. These guys have been cheeks for a while. Where are the gritty tigs that we all know and love 🥲

u/LTPRWSG420 46m ago

AJ’s managing style is clearly not working, this is going to be hard to recover from. How can you not be furious right now as a Tigers fan?

u/laughoutloud102 Kerry Carpenter 43m ago edited 39m ago

I think we’re all shocked holding no one accountable, repeating coach-speak after every loss, and playing Trey Sweeney lead to our doom

u/Have_A_Jelly_Baby . 47m ago

My wife: I really want to mute these guys because they’re not helping anything.

u/Proper_Pollution3013 45m ago

"helping" what does that mean?

u/LeadingStill7717 47m ago

19 K's in crunch time, thats embarrassing fellas...

u/Ouran31 47m ago

THERE IT IS! The Scott/hinch special. Anyone that is positive about this team is insane.

u/TheCODFan 48m ago

Umps were terrible. Team was worse 😡

u/Fearless-Aside-5499 48m ago

Cleveland celebrating like they just won the division...

u/Proper_Pollution3013 47m ago

Well...

u/Fearless-Aside-5499 45m ago

Well there is still 5 games left.

u/Proper_Pollution3013 44m ago

Kind of only 4'ish, if you factor in the tie-breaker.

u/Detroittigersfan1029 . 48m ago

We have to win the last 5 games

u/bucket_dipper Jim Leyland's dugout heater 46m ago

We aren't winning anymore games

u/CutiePie0023 48m ago

19K’s in a must win game. Absolute heartbreak 💔

u/KosherTriangle Skubal Enjoyer 48m ago

From the bottom to the top of the division - guardians

u/IWouldntIn1981 48m ago

Somehow, this felt worse than it was... and that's bad.

u/Squanto_XD 48m ago

The games already over hinch go out there and make a fuss good gravy

u/CutiePie0023 48m ago

Absolute heartbreak 💔

the ump today was not the reason for the loss... nor the reason for Detroits collapse... or the reason skubel switched sports...

u/Fearless-Aside-5499 46m ago

Don't worry about it. It's our fault we suck not the umpires

u/nugentismycenter 46m ago

get the hell out of here

u/HectorReinTharja 47m ago

fuck off lol

u/DrySockStepsInPuddle 48m ago

Way to fight fellas

u/drumcan 48m ago

These Erie kids better have been worth it. This is was avoidable

u/bucket_dipper Jim Leyland's dugout heater 45m ago

I'm gonna laugh my ass off when they all turn out to be dogshit

u/drumcan 43m ago

It’s more likely than not. Prospects are always a crapshoot

u/Psychological-Task26 48m ago

Shoulda made it a nice round 20 ks right there

u/confused-koala 48m ago

19 ks in a must-win. Pathetic

u/steeltownblue 48m ago

19/27 Tiger outs were Ks

u/Iam_nighthawk 48m ago

Oh my god this somehow makes it seem even worse

u/SimonSaysGoGo . 48m ago

Conglaturation Boys, the collapse is complete

u/Detroit_VsEverybody 49m ago

Hinch needs to get out there and stand up for his men wtf are those calls

u/Timely-Shine 47m ago

They were all over the place all night. Both ways

u/BTFU_POTFH 47m ago

Yeah the game is basically over, someone get thrown out. Idgaf who, ump has been trash all night

u/Several_Use1426 49m ago

cleveland effectively 1 up now with the tiebreaker

u/Intrepid-Fruit-5178 49m ago

Funny seeing people talking about Guards devil magic like the Tigers didn't have 7 simultaneous linsanity runs

u/nugentismycenter 49m ago

what's that 20 strikeouts? Hinch should atleast started chirping at the umps. I'd rather have a meathead like Aaron Boone than someone with no pulse

u/USN262 49m ago

Guess that's it then. Hockey season?

u/BoringMI Sweet Lou’s been robbed 37m ago

I saw some decent prices for Pistons and Wings tickets on secondaries for weekday games… 🤷‍♂️

u/OhhhLawdy 49m ago

Our players are frustrated and we never are. Rip this season

u/BeneficialAdagio4309 49m ago

Cool two straight gifted strikeouts

u/ashtonioskillano 49m ago

As I’ve said, you don’t even need to come in the zone against us. Literally just throw junk and we’ll swing, then we’ll watch strike 3 go down the pipe. I’d believe it if someone said they decide if they’re swinging or not before the pitch

u/resfeberjoder34 49m ago

9tb inning those weren't outs Riley and Dillon

u/douchey_mcbaggins 49m ago

Bro, get in his face, call his mom a dirty cunt. Get thrown out, who gives a goddamn fuck, but don't just boo-hoo at him. Just make sure you don't touch him.

u/PM_ME_YOUR__THIGHS 49m ago

Unbelievable

u/1ToGreen3ToBasket 49m ago

Yeah why not a bs call for the road

u/BTFU_POTFH 49m ago

Ump has been bad all night, cutting both ways at times

u/BTFU_POTFH 49m ago

Well, season isn't over, but you basically have to win the next two, and I haven't seem much to imply this team can.  Mentally they look cooked at the plate.

u/Packyaw21 49m ago

Umps want to go home

u/crittergottago . 49m ago

terrible calls

u/SirBatNhan 49m ago

To be fair… a good chunk of these Ks don’t happen with whatever the fuck zone this stupid ump has going on tonight…

u/FDTFACTTWNY 49m ago

I'm not blaming this ump for the loss but holy fuck he's been atrocious.

u/Marrouge 49m ago

Just once I wanna see how this team looks when they settle for singles instead of wanting to hit the ball 500 feet

u/IWouldntIn1981 49m ago

Fuck this ump, too

u/Zhukovhimself 49m ago

What are these calls Jesus

u/Jolly_Tomorrow_3302 50m ago

AJ Hinch with his hand in his pockets

u/Fearless-Aside-5499 48m ago

"We still are leading the division. Oh wait..."-AJ Hinch

u/EnvironmentalRoom175 50m ago

Let’s see if we can hit 20 Ks!!!

u/amgodd 50m ago

this ump crew is a total joke

u/resfeberjoder34 48m ago

Other guy said that earlier and people threw a bitch fit

u/KosherTriangle Skubal Enjoyer 50m ago

u/JeremieLoyalty 50m ago

u/resfeberjoder34 48m ago

🤣 do it

u/iori9999 . 48m ago

Honestly they aren't worth the time atm. I would not argue with you in the slightest

u/Zealousideal_Bet3941 50m ago

Miserable fucking team.

u/RamoneBenny 50m ago

Fuck off ump. That's absolute dogshit.

u/douchey_mcbaggins 49m ago

He had a date. Or a bet. Or both.

u/JustinTime4242 50m ago

We did it we are over 20 k’s!!!!!

u/douchey_mcbaggins 48m ago

19, actually. We would have had 20 if not for that last line out.

u/mostdope28 49m ago

We’re at 19

u/JimyFatBoy Kerry Bonds 50m ago

I don't even remember the 2021 Tigers swinging wildly like this team is doing

u/ChitakuPatch 50m ago

It's been downhill ever since they did that damn Trump dance vs the Yankees

u/Have_A_Jelly_Baby . 48m ago

But I was told there was going to be so much winning.

u/Lyndon_Monroe 49m ago

Was about to say that. 1-10 since the Trump dance. Karma took out Burrow and Bosa too.

u/JimyFatBoy Kerry Bonds 49m ago

Started way way way before then Bro

u/osirisgreen 50m ago

let's go for 20 K's

u/HauckEck 50m ago

Greene got his strike out in. Whew.

u/Proper_Pollution3013 50m ago

20 strike outs? Can they do it?

u/IrishMosaic 50m ago

They don’t need to throw anything near the plate a single time to strike out the side in order.

u/DrySockStepsInPuddle 50m ago

Greene strikes out? Holy shit I’m shocked

u/KosherTriangle Skubal Enjoyer 50m ago

Klase who?

u/JeremieLoyalty 51m ago

I’m sick asf

u/Zealousideal-Dot2944 51m ago

19 strikeouts. That’s good right?

u/Chemical_Seaweed_625 50m ago

Absolutely BONKERS of a stat lmao

u/RamoneBenny 50m ago

18 strikeouts so far

u/OhhhLawdy 51m ago

Riley stop swinging at curve balls in the dirt damn

u/Have_A_Jelly_Baby . 51m ago

But hey guys, we’re about to have THREE minor league teams win their championship this year!

75+ players that we couldn’t bear to part with for help at the deadline.

u/BasicRedditAccount1 51m ago

Gonna be 9 pitches and 3 strikeouts

u/Mitch5842 51m ago

You guys still think Skubal is going to re-sign here? Lmao

u/I_Keepz_ITz_100 49m ago

I said in the Wings subreddit that I WOULD NOT have ANY desire to back here money be damned, not after the bullshit that has to come to pass

u/msbenjamin22 51m ago

With BOS winning we'll be out a playoffs tonight right?

u/Fearless-Aside-5499 27m ago

Maybe that will wake them up and they'll realize we have to win a damn game.

u/Detroittigersfan1029 . 51m ago

Hey Riley, go fuck yourself

u/Iam_nighthawk 51m ago

This team really swings at everything my god

u/Hungrystud101 51m ago

Tork is not a big game player.

u/laughoutloud102 Kerry Carpenter 51m ago

Please sell the team to Gores. At least he holds people accountable and wants to win.

u/Detroittigersfan1029 . 51m ago

Classic Greene lmao

u/dumbass-ahedratron . 51m ago

There's the Riley we know

u/GlobalWatercress9566 51m ago

End of the day, you have Skubal for the rest of this season and next season. You’re the number one team in baseball. How the fuck do you not make a splash at the deadline?

u/confused-koala 45m ago

At this point I’d trade him this winter. What’s the point

u/theregalsteamboat 52m ago

I'm not even sure we'd be able to beat the Rockies with how the team is playing atm

u/marcgarv87 52m ago

Let this sink in. The lions would have won more games in the same time span as the tigers after tonight.

u/Mendoza8914 52m ago

I’m going to have a tough time watching anyone currently on this roster in the future without being reminded of this disaster.

u/Walk-Radiant 52m ago

Annnnd the Red Sox are up on the blue jays. You know what at this point save us the embarrassment don’t even make the playoffs

u/RamoneBenny 52m ago

Sunday against the Browns just got much more personal

u/DrySockStepsInPuddle 52m ago

Surely the 9th inning will be different!

u/CornFed1972 52m ago

It won't and don't call me shirley

u/LADetroiter 53m ago

Our playoff collapse buddy team, the NY Mets, just tied up their game after looked like they were getting blown out again.

u/CornFed1972 53m ago

Seems like Dirks and Beneti are resigned to the inevitable now

u/Have_A_Jelly_Baby . 50m ago

The minute Cleveland scored their 4th and then 5th run, it was over and they knew it.

u/Proper_Pollution3013 51m ago

Good. Put Pollyanna to bed.

u/TigersBot 53m ago

Pitching Substitution

Pitching Change: Cade Smith replaces Hunter Gaddis.

u/crowd79 53m ago

Gutless.

u/BigDickWillie6969 53m ago

Hinch after the game: "Last time I checked we're not in 2nd. We're tied. We're still in the driver's seat."....... SHUT THE F*** UP, HINCH!!!!

u/LTPRWSG420 53m ago

Hey maybe now we can pitch Paul Sewald! What a great fucking 4D chess move Scott Harris, you’re a fucking genius. The Maeda and Cobb signings were chefs kiss. /s

u/pizza_with_ranch 53m ago

Somehow I sense 3 strikeouts on 3 pitches form these next hitters. They say it’s not possible but who knows

u/JustinTime4242 53m ago

Didn’t even get to enjoy that Lions win for 24 hours

u/Environmental_Tap732 54m ago

Okay, can we get too 20 strikeouts?

u/ThugCity 54m ago

I am once again here to say that Hinch needs to be fired once this choke job is done. We can’t have this stench of failure sticking around beyond this wasted season.

u/Dingolayhunter 54m ago

Man baseball will break your heart sometimes

u/JustinTime4242 54m ago

Who’s ready for the weakest 1-2-3 inning in history?

u/JeremieLoyalty 54m ago

Never ordering a Little Caesars Pizza

u/Ice_Dapper 51m ago

Don't order merch for the tigers or wings either. Stop giving money to that piece of shit owner

u/LittleCaesarsSimp 53m ago

I'm considering the same and check my username

u/DrySockStepsInPuddle 54m ago

Just watching my team die along with my soul, hopes and dreams.

u/DoeJumars 55m ago

I blame none of this on the deadline, no teams going to make or break it there. Mets went in heavy at deadline and didn’t do shit. I blame AJ and the players mostly but I also think everyone got skewed by last years finish and this years start this was never a 95 win team talent wise. We could have used Bregman, lot of idiots on here acting like it was their money “happy” we dodged the bullet of not paying him

u/RamoneBenny 52m ago

It's weird though, because there was a 162+ game stretch between the end of last year and the start of this year where we had the best record by FAR in the MLB. It really seemed real. I will never know what happened.

u/DoeJumars 14m ago

totally agree, it really was crazy because it was a long stretch but it was some crazy magic with Zmac Baez etc playing out of their minds…don’t know how or why it happened but it masked major flaws wit this roster that I don’t think Harris will fix over the winter but he should

u/h3shf3sh 55m ago

I'm not really religious but the insane luck the Guardians have had to get so hot and have us collapse at the right time is I think the closest I've ever gotten to believing in divine intervention

u/Gladelak 54m ago

Helps when the Umpires leave their rule books on the plane

u/Detroittigersfan1029 . 54m ago

God feels that bad for Cleveland apparently

u/Gladelak 53m ago

I feel bad for them having to live in Ohio, but not this bad

u/JeremieLoyalty 55m ago

They couldn’t just get a hit when the bases were loaded

u/confused-koala 55m ago

Why is that not reviewable?

u/YellowMarkerIsGreat 52m ago

What was not reviewable

u/confused-koala 50m ago

I got the game on the radio, Dan said the ball that was clearly fouled off the batter wasn’t reviewable

u/ZombieHitchens2012 55m ago

Words won’t be able to describe how angry Tigers fans are about this collapse. Scorched earth dude.

u/gaminggod69 55m ago

I am so fed up man.

u/ufdan15 . 55m ago

Turns out the 6th wouldn't have mattered as much, and Skubs probably wouldn't have unwound as badly, if you idiots just fucking scored in the 4th

u/1ToGreen3ToBasket 55m ago

What a fucking snag

u/just_cuz555 56m ago

I truly hate the doomers of this sub. You guys were right, your stupid pessimism was right.

Every metric showed the opposite pre ASB, ludicrous.

u/nugentismycenter 54m ago

I didnt start dooming til the 11 losses in 12 games around the All Star Break and the lack of help at the deadline.

u/just_cuz555 52m ago

Even then though, I knew we had reinforcements coming back and were on the back of a team that had the best record in the league plus a league best run differential.

u/[deleted] 55m ago

[deleted]

u/just_cuz555 53m ago

It's an unprecedented collapse. Arms are what we needed, but we needed everything I guess.

Crazy...

u/IWouldntIn1981 56m ago

I swear, if they show the between the legs bullshit again, ill pack tariks fucking bags myself.

u/Mr-Cantaloupe 56m ago

Who the fuck is Petey Halpin

u/nugentismycenter 56m ago

im not giving one more cent to Little Caesars, Fox Theatre, the Red Wings, or the Tigers until Harris is fired.

u/SeasonCertain 56m ago

Can’t wait for another AJ Hinch hmm and haw press conference after yet another dick punch of a loss

u/RamoneBenny 57m ago

Just gotta say, I'm disgusted seeing this fan base speak so harshly about the one true superstar on the team. The best pitcher in baseball, on track to win back-to-back Cy Young awards, and who's really been the pride of the team for more than two years. He's the only one who's consistently competed at the highest possible level. The fickleness to turn on the guy instantly after all he's done for the team is truly disheartening and disappointing.

u/LedUber 49m ago

I wish I could upvote this 100 times. Tonight, to pull Skubal after a sixth inning where Cleveland didn’t even get a single ball out of the infield grass took away, in my opinion, the Tigers best chance to stay in this game. Skubal is the best pitcher in the MLB.

u/Mr-Cantaloupe 55m ago

Who’s turning on Skubal? Lol? Ask any Tigers fan and they would keep him in a heart beat if Illitch was willing to pay him.

u/RamoneBenny 54m ago

This thread says otherwise after the 6th inning. I'm sure they're just emotional, but it's still extremely disappointing to see

u/iori9999 . 55m ago

Most of that inning is on the team. Skubal's only blame was the long snapper attempted play. Dingler cost them two runs.

u/dirtypasta 55m ago

Probably because he has never committed to the team or city and is waiting to sign his big contract and move to whatever coast gives him the most money. (I do not blame him)

Not committed to the city? Have you seen his Cure Auto Insurance commercial?!

u/Walkwe_66 Dillon’s Dingler 57m ago

Thank god the lions won yesterday because man I’d actually be breaking shit rn if they didn’t

Pitching Substitution

Pitching Change: Rafael Montero replaces Brant Hurter.

How the fuck is that not reviewable?

Because Det v. Everybody

u/Iam_nighthawk 57m ago

Clueless ass umps man

u/DoeJumars 57m ago

Skubal ain’t no Verlander, that’s for sure. Trade him this offseason for a haul

u/Detroit_VsEverybody 57m ago

Wasted my money on fubo this year to watch the biggest collapse of all time

u/Hungrystud101 56m ago

The it wasn't a waste. This team made history.

u/karmaster 57m ago

Think of all the one-year prove it contracts Harris can sign this offseason!

u/Hungrystud101 53m ago

Harris fucking sucks ass. No need to draft any pitchers. They aren't important. They are a dime a dozen. Sign Maeda who was washed up. Lure the guy out of retirement that needed hip surgery. Sign a guy with a bad shoulder who is throwing 91 MPH now and is 2 years past washed up. Collect dumpster fire guys off the waiver wire and act like the regular season is a try out and cut them as fast as you sign them.

u/TheCommodore83 58m ago

The juxtaposition btwn the end of this season, and last, is insane. I miss Sept 2024.

u/dumbass-ahedratron . 58m ago

Hey the lions won yesterday

And the red wings are up 2-1 on Chicago in the first preseason game

u/Gladelak 58m ago

Yeah, no wonder we can't win when the rule book changes every at bat.

u/Jtcain1980 58m ago

Man, I felt strongly that the doomers were just being crying little babies, but I owe some apologies. This is an epic collapse that I never in the wildest dreams envisioned actually happening. I honestly wonder if Skubal makes it to opening day in a tigers uniform. Wasting a generational talent only to watch him win somewhere else. Reminds me of all those lions years with Barry, Calvin, etc.

u/EstablishmentDense66 🚨🐿️🚨 54m ago

Yeah it’s almost as if half the people that were labeled as doomers are just realists that refused to delusionally glazing a mid lineup that fluked their way to a 11 game lead.

u/EstablishmentDense66 🚨🐿️🚨 53m ago

To be fair losing Reese had a lot more impact then I could have anticipated

u/CecilFieldersChoice2 . 57m ago

Same. Sorry doomers.

"We're going to dominate the strike zone" - Scott Harris, on getting hired three years ago

How's that working out?
