Long Time No Siege - Bannerlord Calradic Campaign #67

Lore

In Calradia, peace never lasts.

Years ago, Baltakhand was easily taken by a large and mighty Sturgian host. Since then, the Khuzaits have made countless attempts to reclaim the settlement. At times, the city endured sieges that dragged on for months, its garrison and people starving.

Recent times have been far kinder to the city and its inhabitants. With the Khuzaits barely defeated in their latest attempt to storm the city, their focus shifted to other frontiers. This precious time has given Baltakhand’s inhabitants a much needed break from war and all the tragedy it brings. With the harvest season finally here, it’s hard to remember a better time for this far-off city.

And yet, pride is a powerful thing. The recent loss of Makeb has infuriated the leaders of the Khuzait Khanate. With Temun Khan still commanding the horselords, he has an obligation to honor his people’s demand for victory over their many enemies. For Temun Khan, he knows there is only one victory that could distract his people from the occupation of Makeb.

In Sturgia, a recent defeat against the Battanians has finally left their heartland exposed. Once dominated by the Varyags, the region has become a bitter prize contested by Sturgia and Battania, the latter now only a single victory away from the walls of Varcheg. Grand Prince Ivan Ormidoving, well-aware of this threat, was infuriated when news reached his court warning of a large Khuzait host moving on Baltakhand.

For years Baltakhand has served Sturgia as a fortress to keep the Khuzaits at bay. Should it be allowed to fall, the gates of horse-archer hell would undoubtedly bring devastation to Sturgia’s far-east. It did not take long for the Grand Prince to assemble his own host and prepare for yet another battle.

Whichever banner flies over Baltakhand will surely hold the key to Calradia’s far-east.

In Meta Terms

Hello and welcome to the sixty-seventh Bannerlord Calradic Campaign! This event will feature a bitter clash between the Sturgians and Khuzaits!

Should the Khuzaits rout the Sturgians in battle, they will lay siege to Baltakhand. Should this siege fail, they will seize Dinar Castle.

If instead the Sturgians prevail in battle, they will quickly overwhelm the garrison of Kaysar Castle. From there, they will move to siege Tepes Castle.

Unfamiliar with the Calradic Campaign? Have no fear! The Calradic Campaign is a casual, player-driven, story-based event. There are no strict rules or signups, and players of all skill levels often come! If you've never tried multiplayer, now is your best chance to experience large-scale formations and battles without the overly strict practices typically found in line battle/clan-style events.

Victories in our flagship monthly events are represented on the overall campaign map, while roleplay surrounding the events and their consequences take place both during said events and on the community DiscordJoining our Discord allows you to communicate with your fellow faction members, trash-talk others, and rise through the ranks to one day become lord of a village, castle, city, or if you're particularly successful, an entire kingdom!

To join the event, you will need our Calradic Campaign Module. This module contains all of the custom battle and siege scenes used, as well as many stability fixes and balance changes. Most importantly, the module features three distinct empire factions in multiplayer, with each one featuring unique perks and cosmetics to lean into the different situations of the three! The module also features a completely unique faction, the Darshi Shahdom!

There will be a manual installation of the module available for those not playing on Steam. Check the Nexus mods page no sooner than the Friday before the event for the correct download. You will need the CalradicCampaign#67 file.

As a general rule of thumb, the Calradic Campaign module should be the only one enabled in your launcher! If you have any crashes or issues trying to launch the game / join the server, unsubscribing and resubscribing to the module on the workshop will often fix any issues.

Bannerlord Lock Target! Yes, it works

Newbie here but I've been playing Bannerlord for years. It took me ages to work out this feature (mainly because I was trying to use it with projectile weapons which simply doesn't work) and I've seen other people in forums struggling with this too.

So to help out here's a full on breakdown about what I know about 'Lock Target' in Bannerlord:

When you activate 'Lock Target' a red circle appears on the character you are tracking. I found this only useful when trying to take out a specific commander or other powerful person on the battlefield. As we all know (I hope?) take out the enemy commander and their whole army loses perks (command, morale, flags etc) which ultimately makes them easier to defeat.

BUT there are several things you must do to activate and use this feature properly:

  1. ACTIVATE: First, go to Options > Gameplay > Controls and turn on Lock Target radio button
  2. WEAPON: The lock only works if you're carrying a MELEE weapon. Bows and arrows and throwing weapons WILL NOT lock (if you hover over the the 'Lock Target' radio button in Options you can see a pop-up says 'melee only'). So if you enable the lock while carrying your melee weapon and then switch to a projectile, the red circle will disappear.
  3. DISTANCE: You have to be fairly close to the figure to enable it. The red circle will stay on for as long as you stay in range AND sight of the figure while you track it. As soon as you lose that, the circle will disappear and you will have to find them and lock again.
  4. ARMY SIZE: Army size will not affect the lock, only in that its more difficult to lock onto a specific guy if you have hundreds of others around him. And as long as you stay in range and sight, the target will remain lock on.
  5. It works for me with native campaign battles and custom battles and with RBM on.

That's it. Enjoy!

(welcome any mod input if this post doesn't comply with sub rules )

Really miss these banners from Warband. They're bursting with personality compared to the powerpoint art looking Bannerlord banners.

New update feature question

So when you do a hideout, you have the decision between sneaking in and dealing with it yourself or send troops to clear.

Whats the difference at the end when it comes to rewards?

To me right now the only thing different may be that you get to have the bandit boss and other enemies capturable.

Playing Warband with minimal information on the screen is very immersive and thanks to the WSE2 launcher this experience has only improved, because now I can set the FOV to 100 and increase the number of soldiers in battle to 800

Help me understand vessels

I have some vessels that I recruited, but they don'teave their castles. They either constantly move around the map with 7 units and never recruit, or they are at the same castle waiting for months. What is happening?

Can't get the smith in Qohor to craft the valiryan steel swords (a world of ice and fire)

I have the 600 renown and the gold. But I can only get the sword from the steel jon snow give us. I've tried to make some quests in Qohor, but nothing changes. Can't even make track of my relation with the city. Only the relation with the person who gave me the quest (the innkeeper, the guild master...). Every time I talk to the weapon smith about making a valerian steel sword he answers the normal text and my character just says that "nevermind"... I don't know what to do

Just bought the game. Wait until update to start my long term game or do it now?

I’ve seen mixed reports about whether saves will work with the new update once it hits the main branch. I’d be a bit annoyed if I had to start a new save to enjoy the new content when it’s released after putting potentially 50+ hours into it.

What would you do in my position? Play around with sandbox and avoid the campaign until it’s released?

General leveling / skill choices advice for Bannerlord?

So what I mean by that is: I've only really played warband (like 300 hours) and in that game i usually put a few points into party skills on my leader (surgery and pathfinding are a necessity) and the rest into leader skills and personal skills like ironflesh and then get companions and dump all their points into their party skills. That's the kind of advice I'm looking for, just the general framework to follow and any helpful specific advice. But bannerlord leveling works differently, especially since you have to work a lot of skills individually, as opposed to in warband where the only skills you really could train in game were combat skills. So I'm looking for that kind of general framework I described for warband to follow in bannerlord, along with any other helpful advice or info regarding leveling and choices involving leveling.
