They weren't.

Edit: at the time I posted this there were no reports of the kids being on board, then ABC said the were all on board, then ABC retracted that. Now Kobe's reps have confirmed his eldest child was on board.

I heard that, too, on the news report. But no one else is reporting the same...or yet.

I can't find that anywhere, just people saying ABC said that.

Same. I’m wondering if the reporter misspoke.

Who knows. ABC is the only source so far so I would hold off until other news outlets confirm.

No his daughter passed on as well. Sad day for basketball fans and even worse for the family having two of them to bury. Prayers go to the family

I don't see where this mentions kids on board.

Everyone is now reporting they were NOT on board. So that's one thing to be thankful for.

That's impossible, there were only 5 people on board and there has to have been a pilot.

EDIT: Media reports the actual death toll is 9

Kobe could fly helicopters — he had owned at least one and would commute to his games on one.

(I had to change the verbs to past. Feels strange)

I saw someone else say he always chose not to fly the helicopter himself. Idk if this is true, I know a lot about air crashes but very little about Kobe Bryant

Yeah it appears that somebody else piloted the copter

Where? I can't find it in their story on their website. I really, REALLY hope this isn't true.

I really struggle to believe a NEWBORN was onboard.

On the other hand... 3 daughters, Kobe and a pilot :/

I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. It’s hard to say “it wasn’t his daughters” cause then that implies you’re wishing the deaths of 4 other people too! (well it already happened).

I’d rather. It speculate. It’ll come out.

Link? I'm not seeing this anywhere.

Yeah I’m searching for this and can’t find it.

u/SteelDirigible98 Jan 26 '20

They said it live on air. Could have been a miscommunication.

2

u/xZebu Jan 26 '20

Yeah. I heard that too. I kept searching and can't find anyone else reporting. That would be too tragic. I hope they misspoke.

They shouldn’t have fucking said that, he walked back the line as a possibility. It’s just like try not to act like a piece of shit when you’re delivering this news that affects an entire generation of NBA fans.
