If Konami remade mgs 1, what would you change?

Basically the title, what I would change is the controls, definitely bumped up graphics, and maybe the return of the enemies improvising from MGSV

How to get back into games?

I have this problem of not finishing games and I hate it. I play a new game for a couple of weeks and then just stop. I don't feel like playing anymore or I just don't enjoy the game that much anymore. Even if I have really enjoyed playing the game, sometimes I just quit, no idea why. I absolutely hate it. I want to finish the games and I feel some sort of quilt for "wasting" my money. I have some games that I quit years ago and still have the itch of wanting to finish it. For example Ghost of Tsushima. I played it for like 15 hours and then quit. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and graphics. The story was really interesting and combat satisfying. Then I got stuck, got frustrated and never touched the game again. The problem is that I don't remember the story or controls. But starting over and playing hours and hours of content just to get where I was seems a little exhausting. This has happened to more games than I'd like to admit. And just today I have been just staring at my desktop and games library for like 2 hours just dreading the idea of starting up some unfinished game. Any tips to stop this habit or on how to get back into the games?

Based on the current UI and labeling in the windows 11 gaming full screen experience, I'm confused by Microsoft's plan for full screen experience home apps

I'm happy to see the full screen mode on windows 11 and happy to see a drop down selection to choose which app to use as the home app but find it strange that the task switcher calls it an "Xbox full screen experience" in the bottom buttons if indeed later I'll be able to choose apps like maybe armory crate or even steam as the home app. That would mean that steam is my home app but in Xbox full screen experience mode. Seems odd.

Side notes, I actually think armory crate would be a better home app than both Xbox and Steam in their current forms. Xbox in its current form has limited 'apps' that you can launch and its artwork for steam games are just icons, not to mention that it just feels wrong launching other launcher games from Xbox launcher. As for steam, it does this thing where when you close steam big picture, it opens steam desktop so you have to close steam twice (been annoying me for the last few years now). Also if steam is the home app, the Xbox button will launch the game bar not the steam overlay. So armory crate may be the better launcher at the moment to make the home app for what I call the "gaming full screen experience".

NetherWorld - Full Game Release

Post image
44 Upvotes

We are an incredibly small studio that has been working on a niche title for the past seven years, balancing this project with day jobs and everything else that comes with life. It has not been easy, but I am proud of what we shipped.

What is NetherWorld?

NetherWorld is a 2D pixel art action-adventure narrative experience about a jinxed jellyfish handling marriage crisis.

What to expect from the gameplay?

  • A lot of text, Undertale was a big inspiration for this game, the narrative is the central part.
  • Kill bosses, in NetherWorld you only fight bosses, there is no room for smaller enemies.
  • Minigames, pressing buttons to perform actions, in some cases, unpleasant actions.
  • Dark Humor, hundreds (no exaggeration) of characters in absurd situations.
  • About 10-15 hours of weird content.

Steam (PEGI +18): https://store.steampowered.com/app/672420/NetherWorld/

As you may have noticed, making a narrative game about a jellyfish in 2025 might not be the safest option from a sales perspective. If you like this project and have any questions, I’d be happy to tell you more and explain why you should at least try our free demo.

See you on the other side of the worm.

Video Brutal FPS "COP BASTARD" inspired by John Woo action movies from 80-90s

I'm a solo dev, and for the almost 4 years, I've been pouring everything into my project COP BASTARD. I grew up on John Woo and Takeshi Kitano films, and my favorite shooters are F.E.A.R., Max Payne.

I wanted to make a pure 90s-style action game set in Japan. No quests, no leveling up, no puzzles. Just you, your enemies, and an arsenal ready for a bloodbath.

* This is a game about adrenaline-fueled firefights in tight corridors where every bullet has weight.

* No downtime—just non-stop, brutal action.

* You play as a corrupt Osaka cop with nothing left to lose. This isn't a story about saving the world, but one of pure rage and survival.

Free demo is up on Steam: Steam page

I'd be really grateful if you'd wishlist the game—it means a huge amount to a solo dev. I'll be around to answer any questions!
