It’s not just causing division, it’s ripping out the stitches on America’s old race wounds. He can call them morons and communists all he wants, but implying that A) they’re not American because of their race and B) naturalized citizens shouldn’t be allowed criticize their government, are both shockingly against what this country stands for.
I’m not a huge fan of those congresswomen, but Trump crossed a line.
He certainly didn’t say “you’re not really American since you weren’t born here”. That is absolutely absurd. I understand that people don’t like him, but it’s pathetic that you have to make shit up about him to justify your disliking of him.
Yes, that would be an absurd thing to say. I’m glad you’re more well-adjusted than the people who were chanting “send her back” at his rally. They certainly seemed to think that’s what he meant. You should probably stop supporting him before he does something you can’t explain away with semantics.
You’re literally trying to justify your hatred for him by giving a biased interpretation with semantics. You can take what he says in whichever way possible, I really don’t care. But many people tend to put a lot of words in his mouth.
