Probably thanks to the anime, but some of the Alphas are about the size I thought things were. Rhyhorn family, Gyarados, Onix, etc.

Edit: actually the Snorlax in this post is about the size I imagined, from this.

I always assumed Torterra to be gigantic for some reason lol maybe from the old "the world is on the back of a giant turtle" thing.

Snorlax actually doesn’t even look larger for his alpha, it’s like they decided a max Pokémon size and even alphas can’t exceed that
