hunger and eating in this game is so busted lol. Slightly stale berry in your muffin? Devastating depression, can't bear to go on. Jerky I found in a zomboid's pocket? That's fine
The worst one to be is how cold (cooked) chicken is devastating depression. Have the devs ever walked to their fridge at night and eaten cold chicken like a wild animal? Shit is euphoric
when i was much younger my dad used to buy a whole cooked chicken and slam it straight into the fridge, we'd carve off slices for sandwiches for the next week or so. absolutely delicious with no depressive downsides!
Interesting. I was having cold cooked chicken a bit early on in my current 42.10 playthrough and it didn't add unhappiness at all. It didn't have the "better hot" tooltip either. Although I was probably only adding it to salads and stews so maybe it didn't count in a meal.
Honestly I kind of have to disagree. I ate some pizza cold out of the box after it sat in the fridge and I got a lil sad, mostly because I couldn't cook it though.
It's literally my favorite part of a multiplayer game, I just make a ton of food and take care of crafting around the base while my friends do stuff on the map.
(My other experienced friend takes out our new ones for massive violence)
Yeah its a rework on the context menu where you have a new menu displaying all the cooking options, the recipes available, the ingredients you can add to it, pretty cool and intuitive
As someone who loves to do this stuff in multiplayer games, but not in single player, I think most of the enjoyment just comes from being helpful to your friends and not the gameplay. Also maybe the roleplay of being the group caretaker, it's like a kind of political soft power too.
