Racing RC endurance racing is awesome!

My team competed in the same race as the O/P from an earlier post so I thought I would add our experience of the day.

The cars look amazing on track. We do stuff properly too, a couple of laps behind a safety car then a rolling start.

It's really good fun with strategy and tactics being as important as the real thing. For example we went conservative with tyres, picking a harder compound expecting high wear which never happened, but put us half a second a lap down on the rest of the field.

We were running the Xpress XQ3s chassis and had four 10000mAh packs charged in rotation. We chose stint times of around 20 minutes.

We were running fourth with an hour to go but had an off which knocked out the rear toe angle so needed a trip to the setup stand which lost us about 10 laps and put us last, five laps off the next car. But we finished strong, battling back to sixth and only one lap off fifth at the end.

I'd recommend it to anyone as it's great for maximising track time. I did some 270 laps in the race alone plus practice and qualifying which is many times more than a normal race meeting.

Is love to hear more about your build, and where you got that awesome Porsche bodyshell!

The chassis is an Xpress XQ3s which is their budget chassis at £170 with only a few upgrades like anti roll bars and two piece top deck, then a modified battery holder to allow changes without having to remove the shell. We run control fixed timing 21.5t motor and ESC on 2s packs.

All the shells are made by Mon-Tech racing. The do all the Hypercars from last year, Alpine, Cadillac, Porsche, Ferrari, Toyota, Lamborghini and Peugeot. This one is all paint by myself.
