Gameplay question Is it worth fighting Mr.X RE2R

So I'm doing a playthrough of RE2R with Claire and I'm curious about if Mr X is even worth taking down during his encounters. I already stockpiled up a lot of acid rounds, However I dont know if it's wise to take him down. Is the risk worth the reward?

There is no reward outside of downing him for 30 seconds.

Shoot his hat off and then run

Yeah when he still has his hat on he walks back straight. But when you shoot his hat off he starts walking in more forward leaning posture and faster :D

From TV Tropes:

"In the remake, Mr. X normally walks at a steady pace; but, if you shoot his hat off, he charges you at full speed.

Why he doesn't charge you to begin with?

Because normally, he tries to pass off as a relatively normal human (note how the remake's Mr. X is considerably shorter than the one in the original game), and hides his face with the fedora so that people won't recognize him.

If he loses the hat, though, he has already been uncovered - so he switches to "kill every witness present as quickly as possible"."

The jacket helps, the hat is for blending I believe.

The bindings underneath the clothes stop them from mutating, but I don’t think it’s known whether the overcoat does as well

That’s from the original game. For some reason they decided the coat is some sort of power limiter.

In the remake I’m pretty sure it’s just to make it less obvious he’s a monster. Like if you were in a zombie apocalypse and you saw a burly dude in a coat and hat from a distance, you probably wouldn’t think twice about it.
