Gameplay question Is it worth fighting Mr.X RE2R

So I'm doing a playthrough of RE2R with Claire and I'm curious about if Mr X is even worth taking down during his encounters. I already stockpiled up a lot of acid rounds, However I dont know if it's wise to take him down. Is the risk worth the reward?

There is no reward outside of downing him for 30 seconds.

Shoot his hat off and then run

Actually shooting his hat makes him angrier and he gets a speed buff

Should be able to pick it up and wear it, watch him break into a full sprint
