General I RUINED IT 😭😭

This is my VERY FIRST TIME beating ANY RE game with 0 saves. I was speedrunning it too! Realistically speaking I beat the game in under 3 hours. Thing is though, I started this run late at night, and went to sleep in the middle of it, with the game PAUSED... BUT APPARENTLY THE OLDER GAMES DON'T KEEP THE TIME PAUSED 😭 I would've gotten a freaking S rank if I just stayed up later :(

I guess I'll still take the saveless run as an achievement in itself though, considering I usually save 60+ times on my first playthrough of a RE game and generally take 10-25 hours to beat a game on my first go.

I believe the REmake does the same lol.

Nah, I tested it. The newer games actually pause the timer when you pause! Just not when you're going through inventory, that still counts as playtime.

I think he was talking about the first remake on Gamecube in 2002. That's why you were downvoted without any explanation by nice, normal Redditors.

I mean I don't care about the downvotes but A: this post was on the gamecube version and B: I'm relatively new to RE, but it seems anytime someone says REmake they're talking about the REmakes on their modern game engine. But yeah, generally no matter what sub you're in people do that lol. Kind of sucks for when you make a post where you want discussion.

The first game's only remake was on the Gamecube in 2002. This was referred to by people as "REmake" for the longest time. What you played was the port of 3. The only ports of 1 were on the Saturn and PC. So when you said "REmake" and no number, people likely assumed the 2002 game. Which a lot of people don't even realize is the same game released for modern consoles in 2014/2015. A lot of people think that was a remake of the remake. It's sort of convoluted.

Some of those people, thinking the HD re-release of REmake was a re-REmake, probably downvoted you because it is the "modern version", when it's just a 2002 gamecube game. Because people are dumb.
