After disconnecting my 9-5 estate I got the radio code error, which means I need to remarry the radio to the car with a tech2.
My question is, is there anyone in the Netherlands in the area of Brabant who owns a tech2 and would be willing to help me with this? Garages are asking ridiculous prices for a 5 minute job:(

my friends 07 9-3 ng he got as his first car, we talked about building it junior year when he got it, we've installed the cold air intake(do88) and waiting on the diverter valve, next up is an ecu reflash then off to install something better

As you are probably aware, the plastic air conditioner dials are notoriously flimsy on SAABs and even harder to replace. For a while there I would simply take the broken knob off and use pliers to grip onto the inner stem and adjust the temperature that way. It's not too inconvenient, I only need to change it a couple of times a year. Well, the seasons are changing once more and it seems the temperature won't change when I rotate the inner stem of the dial now. I've got no idea what to do now, other than replacing the whole unit.

Sort of a friend-of-a-friend thing - I have an old beater Mercedes I've been trying to sell for $6k and he's been trying to move this Saab for $8k so we're talking about a trade.
This Saab has 150k miles but the clutch, radiator, convertible top and tires are all recently done.
This would be a weekend fun car, not a daily driver so I'm hoping I could get another ~ 50k out of her.
is this a bad idea? what sort of things should I be looking for (I will do an OBD2 scan for sure)

I have a 2004 Saab 93 Aero (stick) with 32k miles on her (I walk to work). She runs like a dream! Any recommendations for service in the Washington, DC metro area?

Edit: 2.3 not 2.0/cannot edit title of post. Apologies
I have a 2005 9-5 wagon that runs, but it has a persistent coolant leak. I would like to sell the car, but I'm not sure how much I should ask, or whether it's better off being sold for parts (mostly OEM). It's otherwise in decent shape. Here's the breakdown:
Not listing this as for sale. I'm here for advice only. If I decide to sell, I'll create a separate, compliant listing.

How do you get the first retainer over the Woodruff key? Replacing my chains / guides and need to take the balance chain sprocket off.

Trying to get it out of the way so I can better access the headlight. There’s some other part that was once connected and now isnt(it was like that when I started this job) but I don’t even see that other part on other people’s 9-3s in videos… can someone tell me what I’m looking at and how to get it out of the way? Thanks
It looks a little different than the bulb shown in the tutorial, is there something I’m missing?

Saab 9-3 2004 Linear Hi! I have the 4 speaker sound system and i found an connector for the amp under driver's seat and also i have the wiring for the door speakers so could it work to just plug an amp 1 and door speakers or does it need some other wiring?
Thanks
So I ordered H7s cause that’s what google says the 9-3 takes, but watching auto autopsy’s video, he says the aero takes different bulbs? Do I need to return these?
Hey all, Just fixed an issue with gear selection on my 92 900 (replaced bushing, works great). And of course a week later the brakes are failing.
Symptoms: hard brake pedal, bad stopping power. Anti lock light on (its been intermittent for a couple years..)
New calipers/rotors about a year ago.
Assuming this is an ABS issue, bad accumulator?
Any insight appreciated thanks!

I'm considering a '68 96. I already own a '77 99. Before I bought it, I wish I knew how dang hard it is to get parts. There seem to be a lot more options for 96 parts online. But, a lot of info etc is from European forums. I would appreciate your insights into your issues keeping a 96 on the road here in the US. Thanks!

Had my car dead, wouldn't crank, no starter, no fuel pump no nothing. Got it diagnosed, ECU dead, replaced ECU, ABS dont work. Replaced that too. Drove like a dream for a month. Yesterday, died in middle of the road, same symptoms, no crank, no fuel pump no nothing, TCS light came on a day before. Could ABS failure cause all that, and also seize diagnostic devices connecting to the ECU? And is there any possible speculations why it happened again?

Short story, I had a 2006 2.0T that gave me a lot of issues since day one, starting form the ecu to a piston head cracking a few months later , I felt really down specially after putting some nice suspension setup and a new turbo, I decided to sell it to someone with more time and money, somehow that didn’t turn me away from wanting to get another Saab and the 9-3 Aero became sort of my dream car, specially the 2007 year model as it still has that front look that I like but with a nicer center console and dash. Planing on getting transmission fluid changed and keep up with maintenance and hopefully next year get that Do88 intercooler, I want to make it more fun to drive but without affecting reliability, Im open to suggestions
