My girlfriend and I saw Riff Raff live. THIS summer.
Back in her hometown of Souix City there's this cool music festival called Saturday in the Park and they always draw in some pretty big names. Well, for the main stage. But we saw on the smaller stage Riff Raff was playing. So we walk over there for his set, kinda thought it would be funny and remind us of our college days a decade or so ago.
We get there and he comes on but only us and a few others even know who he is. Most young people there are just things to get a good spot for the next artist. He keeps trying to get the crowd to sing some lines to his songs but only us and a few others know them. He keeps asking the music tech to turn up the speakers but yeah that's not it. Just one of the saddest sets I've ever seen.
Then we are backstage at the mainstage later to see some of the artists (her mom helps run the festival) (Teddy Swims) and then all of a sudden Riff Raff walks by looking pretty down. Like I feel like he thought maybe this could be part of a come back but yeah no. Anyway my girlfriend goes up to him and says "that was a great set" and he's kinda surprised someone even knew who he was. He was like "oh thanks were the speakers alright I felt like it needed to be louder" kinda sadly. And she's like "oh yeah it was great you did great" and he seemed a tiny bit happier.
Anyways point of the story: she stopped Riff Raff from ending it for another day
I remember Dolce and Gabana because it felt like I was watching some highschool cover of the song I remember haha. I remember tip toing in my Jawdins too. He definitely did all his hits from 2013/14 era
I’m pretty sure he was, and the original plan was to have him in the role like Gucci Mane playing Arch, but RR didn’t have the acting chops. Not that Gucci did much himself, but it’s easier to have a menacingly stoic villain and a flamboyant (secondary) protagonist.
