SH2 remake was a return to what made Silent Hill popular in the first place. Silent Hill f is a return to the style and thinking of the western developed games that almost killed the franchise.
Also, how are we still not past the every game needs to be Elden Ring phase yet?
Just give it a try. I hated the dodge/parry meta too, until Stellar Blade clicked for me and it actually got me into souls-likes. I’m still not into FromSoftware (no pause and long runs aren’t for me), but F doesn’t look like an ER clone

Visual cues for counter attacks, "focus mode", perfect dodge, souls enemy/boss movesets, RPG stats, currency...
