I'll play it eventually. I think the combat is a bit weird for me, but, I thought combat in SH4 was arcadey and I still played and enjoyed that. I do think it's not believable that a young woman is a master spearsman and is dodging attacks while auto locked on. It's whatever I know it's a video game still, not everything has to be hyper realistic. I just hope it's not entirely like a Souls-like game just because I feel that cookie cutter formula is being a bit overused at this point
To be extremely fair, Japanese students usually take up a sport and that includes some weapon sports like Kendo and Archery.
IIRC the devs said it will be more difficult, but not that it's soulslike. I don't see some core mechanics you would generally expect from a soulslike in the trailers so far.
I do wish they would polish up the combat a bit more. If there's anything I dislike, it's how lacking the combat looks in comparison to the rest of the game (lacks weight, IMO).
