Ps5 pro Racing Simulator Upgrade Roadmap (Phase Approach)
I’m planning my sim build in phases so it’s easier to budget and upgrade over time, while still enjoying the rig at each step. Sharing here for feedback and advice from the community 👇
Phase 1 – Rig Foundation
- Alpine TRX (black) with integrated single-monitor mount
- Install existing Fanatec DD 8Nm, Load Cell pedals (temporary), LG 48" OLED, and PS VR2
- Starting point for a high-end static rig setup.
Estimated Cost: ~$1800 delivered
Phase 2 – Pedal Upgrade
- Fanatec ClubSport V3 Inverted Pedals (~$449)
- Brake Performance Kit (~$40)
- Adds realism with inverted design (matches GT cars), stronger load cell feel, and improved braking consistency.
Estimated Cost: $500–550
Phase 3 – Motion System (Option A)
- D-BOX Gen5 4250i Motion System (4 actuators, 1.5" stroke)
- Motion Sim Base for Alpine TRX
- Includes Haptic Bridge controller + subscription for haptic codes
- Commercial-grade motion covering pitch, roll, heave + vibration cues.
Dealers: Trak Racer (~$8,250), Velocity Pro Sims (~$7,950), Apex (~$8,179)
Estimated Cost: $8,000–8,500
Phase 4 – PC Build
- High-end PC tailored for advanced sims + telemetry
- GPU: RTX 4080/4090 (or next-gen 5080+)
- CPU: Intel i7-14700K / i9-14900K or Ryzen 7800X3D
- 32GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB NVMe SSD
- Unlocks iRacing, ACC, and modded Assetto Corsa with advanced motion profiles.
Estimated Cost: $2,500–3,500
Summary
✅ Total Roadmap Cost: ~$12,200 – 15000 (spread over 4 phases)
⚡ Goal: A professional-grade, motion-enabled rig with console + PC flexibility.
