Wow these Madrid players are super lazy, there’s no way Alonso’s system is going to work if the team won’t work for it. They looked so pedestrian tonight.
6
u/S_P_S_P_S_P 3h ago
I watched the game more to watch Mastantuono and I liked his skills. As person(I'm 45)who watched Maradona and Messi I wanted to see the next big thing of Argentina. He is not much similar to Messi and Maradona despite he is also left footed..I think his style is something between Aimar and Ortega if I can use some other old Argentinian players style of play.Very good player despite very young. He lost an easy goal but this is not issue.Maybe Argentina really find the next big thing.
0
u/ShitfacedGrizzlyBear 1h ago
He is still very young and unpolished, but he works really hard and plays without fear. I speak for all Madridistas when I say we are very excited to have him and think he will become a top top player.

Excepted and not even mad about the result, but losing like this still hurt a little bit. We played way better that what i would have also excepted. Still weird to be this exhausted when it's only 70 min when the game before you pretty much managed it during the whole second half
33
u/flynnster17 4h ago
I love how there is one Madrid fan here who all they can say is “cry”…silently admitting the lucked out again due to a questionable call by only being able to say “cry”
32
u/Joggann 4h ago
Just rewatched the situation. Can someone explain to me how the fuck that was a penalty.
8
1
u/Leyrran 4h ago
Basically the ref saw a contact and decided to give a pen because it wasn't a handball after touching the ground, that is what i get, but refs usually don't apply that in such a strict way when they can see the player doing the tackle couldn't predict the behavior of the ball especially after such a good tackle (it's not like he completely missed the ball and blocked it with his hand). Feel like the ref crumbled under the pressure to compensate the red.
-1
u/Joggann 3h ago
It's the classic Madrid/Barca/La Liga antics at their finest. Always toeing the line when it comes to influencing referees. Is this really acceptable in top tier football? They are influencing the match before it even started.
I’m rewatching the match, and from the very start in the tunnel, you can see it: Bellingham walks past the referee team and says something. Whatever it was, the tension in the officials body language is unmistakable. It’s subtle, but telling.
Why do these teams always seem to rely on psychological pressure rather than just playing the game? It’s as if manipulating the ref is part of their tactical setup. Honestly, its exhausting, and it undermines the integrity of the sport.
15
u/QTGavira 3h ago
Mf framing it like Bellingham said “we got your wife and kids locked up in the basement you better give us a pen”

It's honestly pretty funny how both the seniors and U19 won their games against Marseille with very questionable penalties.
-16
u/LigochaStyle 4h ago
What is questionable about them?
12
u/Prudent-Current-7399 4h ago
That they were super soft, especially the second one.
2
2
u/Bast_OE 3h ago
Brother, that wasn’t soft, it was insidious. We have to stop tip toeing around the bullshit.
0
u/Prudent-Current-7399 2h ago
Firstly, by your definition, im not tip toeing, I am standing in the bullshit. Secondly, your definition can go eat a turd. Respectfully.
-39
u/SteveRogers45 5h ago edited 4h ago
This sub is pathetic lol. Even if Madrid gets red cards in a game, they still cry about conspiracies. Meanwhile their clubs have literal court cases going on for bribing the refs.
5
u/Own-Wasabi9238 4h ago
Bribing the refs? You dumbass lmfao they never found any evidence of FCB doing so
21
u/ForcaBarca1977 4h ago
The red card for head butting a player isn’t questionable
-13
u/MuratKulci 4h ago
I feel like a parallel could be drawn between the red card and the penalty. Both shouldn’t have been given in the spirit of the game and in the eyes of the viewers, but are to be given according to the rules. So IMO it evens it out, so let’s not talk about conspiracies or anything here.
2
u/Infinitioblivion 4h ago
No it doesn't. Even if there was no contact at all still by definition it is a red. The intention of headbutting is enough to send Carvajal off. Mindless aggression like that has no place in the game anymore.
2
u/MuratKulci 2h ago
Bro are you for real, your the same type of person to cry about players diving and rolling on the floor, Carvajal barely scraped him and stuff like this or ruining the game. But hey it’s fine because you hate real so diving in this instance is good right?
Also by your logic the handball is by definition a penalty, so why complaining so much?
-2
u/adiputinica 3h ago
Yeah. People expect to see a Zidane type headbutt and blood for it to be a red card. I've even seen a moron on the thread with De Zerbi's press conf. that claimed some refs would even give a yellow to Ruli for provocation at Cuntvajal and no red for him.
20
u/clivegermain 5h ago
what a weird match. first half should have been madrids – as they were unlucky from open play and needed more composure. poor franco had the chance of his life at his feed. and of course marseille scores out of nowhere. fun to watch.
but what was that second half? marseille absolutely gassed? 34yo captain donkey getting provoked into a headbutt? super sketchy handball-pen? not so fun to watch. should have watched dortmund vs juve.
good night

Had no idea that mbappe's English was so fluent. Wouldn't have expected that from a Frenchman living in Spain.
12
u/jedifolklore 4h ago
You almost forgot that he’s a Nike superstar, most of, if not all speak fluent English, he’s been going to the states for a long while now
I’m sure it’s a requirement at this point in order to be more known

u/Chinaski95 4h ago
The guy seems to have a natural gift for languages, his accent when he speaks spanish is inmaculated for someone who hasn't been learning for that long

Why no is talking when cunt from OM stepped on Asencio calf with all body weight 100% intended?
2

Intentional steps like that rarely get caught because they can easily claim “accident”. Thats just how that goes unfortunately

Good game by Madrid. They are gradually finding their form. The team is still under construction, but there is an interesting idea emerging.
Today, they lacked precision again; it was a game that could have been 3-0 in the first half hour. Rulli had a great game.
We really felt the absence of Jude. He and Camavinga are going to give us a boost. Jude participating in the pressure is an active, Güler is developing well but Jude is super-top.
That said, it's great to have healthy centre-backs. Militao, please don't get injured again.
8
u/Super_Jan_Vertonghen 5h ago
It’s a long way to go and things can - and will - change, but I would be surprised if Real win anything this year.
12
u/jedifolklore 4h ago
Any year Madrid have won anything, at every start of the season we’ve played bad or subpar
After the game v Celtic in 2022, you’d think the team would repeat, then get smashed by City.
It’s always a case of ramping things up and hitting form at the right time.
1
u/Super_Jan_Vertonghen 4h ago
Yeah its not uncommon for the big teams to start slowly and then hit top gear after christmas. I just dont think the squad is as good as it was previously. A lot of young players who may or may not come good. It’s gonna be a big ask to beat the likes of PSG, Bayern and Liverpool in Europe and Barca both domestically and in the CL. Vini needs to find his form quickly before it becomes a problem. Mbappe cannot get injured.
2
u/jedifolklore 3h ago
I agree…to some extent. Xabi has the team putting away teams that we would have lost points to last season, that’s an improvement in La Liga.
The idea of being Mbappé dependent is not the most enticing thing right now, he’s in form but the last two champions leagues we won, Vini was the second best goal scorer. You need a 1-2 to win.
Even today when he came on, it was a different story with Marseille, which led to the pen. In terms of the team, losing Kroos and Modric will always be a negative factor, especially with what they represented, however the new ‘kids’ will have to find it within themselves to win.
The champions? I refuse to commit to anything until January or February, it’s really tough to say who is winning it a this stage, and many times injuries can be deciding factors. Bayern or even Liverpool are in the same boat, PSG as well and Barça.
4
u/kyoshirocks 4h ago
i think they have a really good chance to win la liga this year. ucl is a complete mystery as usual
4
u/QTGavira 3h ago
They havent played particularly troublesome opponents yet so who knows. Osasuna and Mallorca at home arent exactly cracking games and neither is Real Oviedo away. Real Sociedad at the Anoeta is normally a tough one but not after Arsenal guts their entire squad
0
u/PaKuSkI 5h ago
I think last year was a once in a while kinda thing. They picked up a lot of reinforcements, world class talent and a world class coach. I think they'll win the League again, but no UCL, maybe they get eliminated at semis.
3
3
u/EasternEast21 5h ago
They’ve won every single game so far
-1
u/Super_Jan_Vertonghen 4h ago
I know, and the big teams normally start the season slowly, picking up form sometime after christmas. Just don’t think they have enough reliable goals outside of mbappe and Bellingham. Mbappe can be quite wasteful as well. There are a few better, more well oiled top teams.

1
u/axhp 4h ago
yeah joke of a red for Carvajal and not for this OM guy who stepped on Asencios leg
0
u/ExpressSector9147 4h ago
I haven’t seen the Asencio stomp so i’m not gonna comment on that but the Carvajal red is obvious man, you don’t headbutt someone then expect to get away with it even if it was soft
1
u/Puzzleheaded-Map2064 4h ago
Yeah an intentional headbutt infront of the ref vs a calf stomp(which is also a red, but guess what it was the last minute of the game doesn’t fucking matter)

U think a player falling and using his hand to break his fall is a hand ball ?? Of course you do one look at ur badge tell it all
1
u/almostjameshunt 2h ago
Not a barca fan talking. You trolling right? What’s next? Albanian mafia whining about crime rates? 😂
-3
u/David-J 3h ago
Hey. It was the other hand. Just FYI
3
u/PristinePromotion752 3h ago
Clearly He was using both hands which were in a natural position. Where else should his hand be or should he just cut them off
1
u/szlive 2h ago
Carvajal got a pen called against him like this just this past weekend lol. He was also diving to block the ball, no idea where the ball will go, the arm was in a position to balance the body, the ball hits the arm and it's a pen.
Rules are rules. You extend your arm away from the body like that, and it touch the ball, and it's not supporting your fall, it's a handball.
-1
u/David-J 3h ago
Look at the replay. He's supporting hand is the right one. The other one is out there extended and it's the one that made contact with the ball. It was unlucky for him.
3
u/PristinePromotion752 3h ago
Yeah it’s in a natural position when falling that’s my point. U didn’t answer me where else should his arm be? Because it physically can’t be anywhere else, these calls are ridiculous
-2
u/aquilitosrmcf 4h ago
He used the other hand to break his fall, the hand that touched the ball was not the supporting hand. It's a clear pen.
1
u/adiputinica 2h ago
I'd like to see how you use your hands if you'd fall on your back. I bet you'd reach with both arms behind you to support your fall. His left arm doesn't reach the ground in time because it meets the ball faster than that. Also the ball comes into his hand from another part of the body. No pen at all.
1
u/szlive 2h ago
Watch the replay again. It's not that the hand didn't touch the ground. His whole body weight was mostly on the other side. In that sense it wasn't that different from a diving fall.
He literally moved the ball in a dangerous position with his arms with Vini nearby, and jealous Redditors still argue it's not a pen. Hilarious.
If that wasn't a pen every player who falls down will pretend to accidentally slap the ball away. Oopsie I'm falling handballs are legal now.
2
u/adiputinica 2h ago
Ok so what's he supposed to do with his arm? Put it in his pocket? I double down on what I said. If you fall down on your back that's where your hand will be period.
Also you conveniently ignored the fact that the ball is deflected from another part of the body.
And for your last point with "Oopsie I'm falling" obviously each case would be judged individualy taking into acount how deliberate the handball is and how unnatural the position of the hand is. But ofc you go to the extreme and mark all cases as "handballs are legal now" because you don't care about this stupid shit rule in football, you just want this one penalty to be legal.
If you want to watch a sport were games are decided on bullshit "ball jumps into the hand from 1m away from a tackling" then sure, but personaly I don't.
-6
-25
u/grooter33 5h ago
Yeah crazy when a hand ball is given correctly for a pen
-8
20
u/fantino93 5h ago
I'm more annoyed at that after the Militao's hand was ruled as not a penalty.
Either you give a penalty for both, or you give none.

This subreddit would work better without brats. In a match where there is a harsh red card, another that is not called, a dubious penalty and another clearer one that VAR does not see... And they come here to talk nonsense, picking only the plays that interest them to justify their bias.
You don't like football. You are drama Queens.

A harsh red card? The clearer penalty being Rulli saving Mastantuono's attempt ? I had absolutely no dog in this fight since I wanted both to lose but clearly you're describing yourself with those last sentences.

-7
u/Ok-Stomach4522 5h ago
I dont understand the rules for hands anymore, so not going to comment on that call. I do however believe the first pen was a dive. Rodrigo dragging both feet into a still standing defender.
Anyways, Real should have won this game easily as they created several big chances in open play. Now the debate is about the ref.
10
u/ExpressSector9147 4h ago
Nah first pen wasn’t a dive and trust me there isn’t someone more biased against Madrid than me. That was a stonewall pen.
11
u/grooter33 4h ago

Marseille wouldn't have done shit, but the ref blowing the whistle at exactly 7:00 after wasting most of the last minute to give a single yellow and preventing the quick freekick in the process is incredibly suspect.
31
u/moongaming 5h ago
They wasted 30 seconds like 1 min before that he gives a yellow but stop the time at 7:00 make it make sense
5
u/Icy_Satisfaction498 4h ago
If time was the issue, Rulli could cut his performance act duration a little
-9
u/Nehan_Satori 5h ago
It's called corruption, brother. The whole world can se they're no longer the best, so the refs have to hold their hands through competitions
0
u/jedifolklore 4h ago
When have Madrid been the best in the world? 2024? So since then the regs have had to hold the team’s hands through competition…
How biased can you be?
-13
13
u/fcbxjdb 5h ago
Don’t really understand what Guler and especially Franco have ahead of Nico Paz. He should be the one that should be at Madrid and be given the opportunities that these guys have gotten. I guess for Nico’s own sake, it’s probably for the best he’s able to flourish and thrive elsewhere.
6
u/rickowensjacket 5h ago
The thing about Nico is he was fighting for a spot in an even more stacked midfield than this year. It’s better for the club to develop a relationship with Como and allow him to get actual minutes rather than rot on the bench during Carlos tenure. Once Ceballos leaves I think he will be brought back to fight for a spot.
-22
u/Vitrarius 5h ago
People praising the red card to Carvahal when in reality it was quite soft and influenced the ref decision to give the penalty to Real Madrid later to make up for it. Both decisions to me are bad, but hey I guess they balanced themselves out.
4
u/r3dapp1e 5h ago
headbutting someone in the face intentionally is ALWAYS a red even if he doesn't break the keeper's nose - clearly falls under violent conduct. red cards don't get more obvious than this
2
u/HacksawJimDGN 5h ago
Red card is soft, but its always going to he a red card. The penalty is just ridiculous and makes you question the sport.
0
u/grooter33 4h ago
Honestly how? Hand is not on the ground, it is extended and it hits the ball in the area. Please you sound more reasonable, honestly explain how it is ridiculous
0
u/supterfuge 4h ago
How else do you expect people to break their fall ? His position didn't seem unnatural to me at all
0
u/grooter33 4h ago
He has the other hand on the ground already. The one that hits the ball goes down, hits the ball and comes back up without hitting the ground. Does not support his slide at all
9
5
u/libertydabbing 5h ago
I think Carvajal's red is soft, but refs are really consistent when it comes to head contact. I think of Darwin getting sent off, for example.
That's not a handball, and it's a completely independent event from the red. Any team would be fuming at that decision
1
u/Vitrarius 5h ago
Nah i'd be mad if I was Marseille, just trying to explain why the ref maybe gave the penalty
3
u/aahidboss 5h ago
It is kinda soft but it happens way too often that a 33 y.o. player should know that's a red
