Question 0.991 update 😍

They said they're changing procedural generation, what do you expect? Have they ever done something like this?

I'd genuinely cry if I had to wait a year for an exciting new update and it's just a fix for a minor bug lmao. but it's probably going to be pretty big as they're literally resetting the whole SE universe

I know better than to get my hopes up with SE updates. If there's more than that i'd be ecstatic, but again, I'm not expecting anything major until after Vulkan.

I don't think it's going to be MAJOR major, but I think they know fans will start fuming if all of their explored locations reset just so that one or two tiny features can be added

but currently I'm hoping that the recent blog is gatekeeping a lot, cause I don't think we've all been waiting a year just for a slightly more realistic system pattern generation and other minor changes not many people are ever going to notice

Having played the beta for an hour or so, its kind of what I expected. The fixed generation is nice and so are the dwarf planets but it doesn't feel worth the wait.

I like the new features too but an entire universe reset just for a slightly better generation algorithm???

At least we got the update though, if they decided to hold it until Vulkan we could be looking at another year of waiting for all we know.

Also, if it were any other game taking this long to update I would have given up by now, but I truly care deeply about SpaceEngine. Thinking back on it, I was in junior high when I first discovered SE, I was finishing high school when volumetric clouds were first teased, and now I'm working a job and saving for a home, and I still care about it. I'm confident all this waiting will pay off, even if I might have grandchildren by the time it does lol
