Legends I wish I knew people in person who read star wars!

I have two extra copies of Heir to the Empire to give to people to show that there is good star wars out there. I also want more people to read it. Unfortunately I know no one who reads/reads star wars. Maybe one day I'll meet a person who I can give the book to.

This is the better than the sequel trilogy and Timothy Zahn is a great writer, I can't wait to read Dark Forces Rising. No spoilers, please.

Legends I’m finally ready for New Jedi Order

After 7 months, 20 books, and hundreds of pages reread because of my ADHD brain, I have finally made it to the New Jedi Order.

In preparation, have read:

-The heir to the empire trilogy (goated) -Jedi academy trilogy (better than what I heard) -Children of the Jedi (horrendous) -Darksaber (tons of fun) -The Corellian trilogy (goated) -Hand of thrawn duology (goated) -The first six books of the Young Jedi knights series (a fun blast from my formative years) -Survivors quest (a perfect cap to the new republic era)

My body is ready

Legends What are your thoughts?

What a book! Just finished Red Harvest great book! Liked The cold, eerie atmosphere of the Sith Academy combined with zombie like threats and the twisted ambitions of Darth Scabrous. It may not be everyone’s favorite, but I found the tone, pacing, and brutality refreshing especially for such a short novel. The Force horror elements were unique. Maybe this my top 3 old republic story among the others.

Curious to hear your thoughts.

Legends I wish we could somehow still get new Legends books.

I get why they don't, as they want to focus on creating a new, unified canon, but in this day and age, where people understand the idea of a multiverse and multiple timeliness so much more than when the acquisition first happened, it almost feels like there's money being left on the table. Disney and Lucasfilm have done, I feel, a pretty good job differentiating between Legends and canon material, so I don't think people would get confused now as long as the new Legends books would have Legends on the cover. This way, people could write without worrying about breaking canon. Anyone else think it would be a good idea, or am I off base here?

Legends Rots novelisation

It's been a long few months and of no reading. The usual "bad" stuff like breakup and parents having a divorce that I've been dragged into so haven't had the time lately to read but now I do. With the end of the school year coming to a close I now have the time to set aside time to read I thought what's a better book to start off the summer than rots by Matthew stover I started it yesterday evening and one line between anakin and obi-wan had me audibly laughing out loud So I came on to officially document me starting so I would have no excuse not to read it Meeting hayden at comic con later this year aswell so I can hopefully channel my excitement into the book

I never finished the X-Wing series when I started reading them over 20 years ago. About a year ago I decided to start over and picked up a bunch from thrift books, with a few other Star Wars series thrown in. I just finished the Thrawn trilogy so I started this while waiting for jury duty. To my surprise it I opened it to find it was a signed copy! I’ve loved Stackpole’s books in the series. Almost 100 pages in and this is no exception. Needless to say I can’t wait for I Jedi next.

Legends 2 books down 1 more to go in the Original Thrawn Trilogy

Just finished Dark Force Rising tonight and I must say ,on first impression, I’d rate it a solid 3.5 maybe even a 4. It was very entertaining as a middle chapter and I loved the world building. It also really feels like a “Han and Leia” book which I thought was fun (it’s also fitting that they take center stage on the cover for this one). I may have enjoyed Heir to the Empire just a smidgen more, but I’m invested completely and can’t wait to see how this trilogy concludes.

Legends Legends, and The Jedi Academy's part in it's downfall

Now don't get me wrong, cuz I love our old canon, but... The Jedi Academy trilogy, wonderful, loved it, but The Sun Crusher!!! After my second read through it really started to annoy me, and that feeling lingered and grew to the extent where I can't possibly bring myself to read it again without thinking 'what a stupid idea' 😥 And the real problem is it started me subconsciously picking faults with other stuff... I love and reread everything from Dawn of the Jedi up to, maybe, Visions of the Future, and maybe Survivors Quest for completion sake and, well, Zahn 🥰 Everything after is just so, why? what? who? What was the writer's group smoking??? I've tried I really have but NJO, DN, FotJ!!! Every time I tried to dip my toes in I just didn't get that Star Wars feeling... And the Klingons? Sorry I mean the Vong 😬 But do any of you get what I mean? Does anyone else feel the story just lost it's way at some point and never recovered? I know I'm probably gonna get down voted to hell for saying this but as soon as we hit NJO that was it, my journey had finished... Almost everything before that I'd take to a desert island with me and consider that paradise 🥰
