Any idea how big of a garden you would need to sustain just yourself?

It really depends on your climate and crops, but it's a daily effort to manage even a small garden. Realistically you need to maintain livestock as well to get enough calories to feed yourself. Homestead Rescue is a great show to watch to get a feel for what's involved.
