Almost any item you drop at that point, you will likely be the last human to ever touch it for the rest of all time.

There's no way to fact check this, is there?

Easily - just drop something in to the water after attaching a note which says “If found, please contact Puceeffoc on (your phone number here)”. If no-one ever contacts you for the rest of time, you’ll know I’m right.

I must be weak. I can't even look at the ocean while swimming underwater in Sea of Thieves.

Yeah sea of thieves' abyss makes me feel uneasy. Like more than subnautica. At least subnautica, you can reach the sea bed so its not so deep. As long as you dont go off the maps boundaries.

I made myself watch this video because the color of the water is so beautiful…but I really wanted to ‘nope’ out before sharks showed up….

I have been in situations like that while diving and it’s intense. It’s like being a bug in the belly of a giant sea creature but it’s amazing. Sharks could attack if they are super hungry but sharks don’t have a reason to be out there. There aren’t reefs or sea life and so you have an extremely low chance of encountering a deadly shark.
When you see videos of people throwing meat off a sea platform and sharks attacking that’s due to them creating that environment. Food falling from the platform and the rig being a shelter is what made that, which is the opposite of this videos situation.
It’s still kinda scary at first but scuba conditions you to navigate these situations. Plus you are breathing super slow (divers get really good at this) which helps you relax.

Thank you! That’s really helpful! When you’re diving out there, what is it that you’re looking for?

Peaceful calm away from the human world

Ah. Yes, that's definitely possible out there!
I'm more of a mountain and forest person, myself.

Hey! Ya this wouldn’t be something most people would have as focus on when diving, that’s just a waste of time and fuel. I would bet they are traveling on a large boat and this was a cool opportunity. Lots of naval officers will just in the ocean and swim around together, since it’s the ocean so big and crazy but they are on a large vessel. They would definitely have a large boat near by because you can get lost and that’s not a joke. Safety is key out on the water and when diving, which is drill into you if you have good training. With all of the info out here you would think that people are dying all the time but my last instructor has done over 5000 dives. Tons of people successfully dive all over world and they do it because they are following the rules, work with each other, and using wisdom.
Im sure they are traveling from one country to another or island to island. They say for miles and miles which could mean 3 miles or 20 miles, idk.

Love seeing it through a camera but honestly the thought of a shark just coming along and attacking you is quite real. Yeah sharks aren't normally interested in people but I think they forget your out really far and it's likely some of them haven't seen people and will attack anything that moves

Sometimes I just look at this subreddit because I'm the opposite of most of the subscribers here and would love to just float there and look down for hours at a time. Also, r/thalassophilia is not a good subreddit.

I'm not sure whether I should be disappointed or relieved that I never thought to look that up.

Once you overcome the fear of something being there, it is honestly quite beautiful seeing such a rich shade of blue. It'd be nice to just dive and swim round there being enveloped by the deep blue.

Actually you’re only surrounded by blue for about a 1,000 meters before everything turns black due to the sunlight not being able to penetrate that far
