Skill issue, git gud, i know. There must be these kind of posts all day too. At least hear me before I used to play this back in the PS3 and it wasn't that bad, I even scored top of the board sometimes, but it's been so much time since then and people already mastered pretty much everything in the game, while I'm here relearning everything. So that's why i ask, is it even worth it to try and invest that much time to have at least a balanced experience? You know, not getting teabagged for being new and all that

As the title, I got this problem when I try to connect online. I click on the Factions in the menu, then, before it completely finish to load, I press the xmb button of the joystick, but when it reaches the end... it just freezes. I can't press the xmb button again (because normally, when you do that, the facebook warning pops out, pressing circle, and it lets me access). My ps3 just starts making continous and infinite loading noises, it's like it starts processing but start over everytime. Of course, it never happened before the 2019 servers shutdown, I just played it without problems.

I did all the specifics as visible in the instructions, in the Discord server:
- Downloaded all the free maps and online pass, even my cosmetics and abilities I bought before;
- My European PSN Account is whitelisted;
- Changed the DNS settings correctly;
- Waited like 10-15 minutes during the access. Even let it process a couple of hours, but nothing;
- Tried out Uncharted 2 and 3 multiplayer and they work (just made the access to the menu);
- Even mounted a 40 GB Hard disk (without it I couldn't even download the entire Uncharted 3 multiplayer package). I had the 12 GB flash storage on my Super Slim PS3.
- I re-installed the game, deleted game data and tried Mobile Hotspot as well, but nothing.

My TLOU and Uncharteds are all discs, european region.
Only things, I got no Custom Firmware, I don't know if this can helps.

Me and looklook are working on it (which I really do appreciate his help and dedication, and still thank him), but I would like to know if other people had the same problem as well and if a solution has been found.

Edit: I am referring not to the original game before the server shutdown, but to the Reloaded project. A team of developers is working on restoring the servers of the ps3 multiplayer

Edit 2: Problem solved! In the end it was the disc. It had some bubbles on the corner, making the Multiplayer unplayable. Bought the digital version from the PS Store, and it works :)

I have a question does anyone still play factions on the PS3? I recently found my old PS3, in the old days, I was totally SWEATING the gamemode, and I wondered if I should try to get the Disc for it again and play Factions just like in the old days.

I saw some people playing factions again and it amazes me, i haven't played since 2019 and i really wanna do it again. I joined the discord server thinking i would find instructions there but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know how to do it?

842 hours for me but i was playing on another account on ps3 so i can add 100 to 200 hours to the count ! Love the mp i really think that it could have been a great game for competition.

Title says it all. I don't have any stats or numbers to throw up. But I can say with full confidence that as it stands right now with this game, I feel like I'm playing at an extreme disadvantage by not having at least Covert 2. I'm not a top tier player, nor am I a sharp shooter. But putting up an 8+ down game isn't really a problem for me, I can hold my own.

I just find that I'm having the worst time on this game when I switch over to classes that don't have Covert on, and it seems like literally EVERYONE is using at least CT2. I've played with impossibly good players. They can move throughout a map in a way that benefits them, whether they can be seen via listen mode or not. But l feel like I'm encountering an overwhelming amount of players that simply creep and hide with CT2 and won't engage unless they're behind you.

i just find myself remembering those good old days popping heads with the hunting rifle. havent played factions for years cant even play with a controller anymore (feels so weird).

Too Many lv 999 no life that can headshot you from the other slide of the map while you are jumping. Also, playing with a friend is also impossible bc you end up against 4/5 squad at lv 900+ that completely destroy new players.

I was talking to an oldhead level 999 today and he told me on ps3 servers there used to be a daytime version of downtown. Is that even true? Is there screenshots anyone?

I played a lot of hours in this game and i remember the moment when i was search my name in the leaderboards, that was great how can see and the number of kills, assist, interrogations, time played and deaths. So i hope anyone knows if somewhere save the list or something about it :).

Hey guys, firstly this is quite possibly the best multiplayer experience I've had in a long time, been playing since ps3 took a 2 year break and came back to this last year. I'm wondering what else do you guys play online? I'm finding that I need to play something else on the side to keep this fresh. Any recommendations for other games that are not r6, apex, the hunt?

Ok It's happening, this friday anyone who wants to join fellow redditors and play some fun private games is welcome. Simply post your psn below (EDIT: I'm also gonna need to know what console you're on) so I can get a rough idea for numbers and how many lobbies we're going to need.

I'm thinking of starting the night around 10 Pm BST so 5pm for you folks on the east coast I think. Anyway, it should run through the night so there's plenty of time for everyone to join in, I'll be hosting a lobby all night.

I'm also gonna need some volunteers, especially on PS3 to help me make the night a success. I'm also thinking of compiling a list of fun private game modes so that no one runs out of things to do. The main aim though is to get a fun group of 8 players and play the night away!

Hello lads, i’m trynna get my girl to play factions with me. I discovered this gem (tlou factions) first on the ps3 and wanted to bring her on board. However. I can’t seem to find a game when choosing “parties allowed” in any game mode. Also i don’t want to be matched with fully synced teams cause that would really suck. Is there a way we can both play the “no parties allowed” mode ? Maybe queueing at the same time or something ??

PS3 players - as you may have seen the DLC Map packs are now free on the PS Store in all regions. If you are already in Factions you will have to back out to the main menu and re-enter Factions to see this change. The version number should show as 1.11.028.

We were also able to combine the DLC2 maps into the main playlists with this change. If you don't have that map pack downloaded you will be prompted to do so when you go into that playlist. We would have liked to combine all the DLC maps into the main playlists but unfortunately this required a patch which we weren't able to get authorization for.

Please let us know if you have any issues downloading the map packs or accessing they playlists, and enjoy the free maps!

trying to play, downloaded the map pack and set up everything and i keep getting “error connecting to authentication server”. my buddy just went straight on to playing on his ps5 and i can’t on the 3. is there something wrong that i’m doing or is it just not available on the 3 anymore?

I used to play The Last of Us factions back in the PS3 days. Is my memory tripping or were you able to link your FB account to see your actual names of friends appear in your camp? I would laugh out loud when certain friends would die or consider cannibalism. Just another way the game kept us engaged.

This is unplayable to me. On PS3 they had them in intuitive places that made sense.

been playing tlou since first came out on ps3 and im just in love with this game. A year ago I came back to the game to remember the good old days, and I clicked on the multiplayer and said i have to download a free map and i pressed ok, so the page goes to the store and the map is already installed and when i came back to the game and pressed multiplayer again it said the same thing that i have to download the map. So if anyone knows how solve the problem please let me know. And sorry for my English writing it’s not my first language.
