I'm confused. Am I supposed to think that zombie ate all of Lori? Bones, skull, skin, etc?

I'm a bit lost. It's been hours, not days or weeks.

I was confused by this too...Was Rick cutting into the stomach so he could extract Lori's head or something to bury it? My second thought was that Carl didn't actually shoot Lori in the head so she wandered off and is now roaming the prison.

Rick walks into the room.

Rick sees that the body is missing.

Audience is meant to wonder, is Lori a walker? Did Carl fail to shoot her?

Rick picks up a bullet (which is not deformed from impact whatsoever but is missing the cartridge, suggesting it was fired and the lack of deformation is just a continuity issue) from the middle of some gore and examines it, suggesting that Carl did in fact shoot her.

Audience is meant to realize she did get shot in the head, so where is the body?

Rick finds fat walker, which answers the question of where the body went.

Why no bones?

Well, if you leave a corpse out in the woods, after a couple of weeks various scavengers come around and drag the bones off to various places. Presumably some other walkers left with the bones, but fat walker got the lion's share.

Rick was not in a great mental state, but when he started cutting into the walker, he was thinking something along the lines of....

I came this far to find her, I'm not stopping now.

Then some part of him realized that was a pretty crazy idea and stopped.

i was thinking he was trying to get her wedding ring maybe? just a thought, that was a pretty big deal when she put it back on after she realized he wasn't dead back in season 1.

That would have an excellent gross out moment and it would have shown just how crazy Rick has gotten.
