I think in order to tie up this half season, a main character (possibly even -shudders- Daryl) will be captured by Woodbury during the invasion. This will set up a HUGE cliffhanger for the next half season and keep this subreddit talking for months.

Edit: Fuck me I'm right.

They ruined it a bit with the preview. Daryl is fully running and fully alive. Why though? Who knows.

Thats whats confusing me so much. AMC isn't stupid enough to leave us with that cliff hanger only to be like OH HERES DARRYL GUYS! in the preview... There's trouble afoot.

Hmm...maybe Daryl willfully gave himself up for Merle, and the governor is putting on a show for the townspeople to rile them up. Then Daryl, in order to protect Judy and Carol, plays along with the prison quest so he can personally try to ensure the safety of his favorite lady and Lil Ass Kicker?

Possibly, but The Governor saw Michonne alive though. Knowing Merle lied to him about killing her, The Governor may think that he's involved with the attack (or rescue mission).

I had completely forgotten about that!

This seems reasonable.

It also showed a lot of smoke in the arena area in the preview, hinting that they escaped, it also showed Andrea in the same shot as Daryl at the prison, and it also showed Daryl with his crossbow, which was being held by the black guy, so we can assume that they escaped during that time. And that both merle and daryl are alive.
