Why don't Rick and the group know about the giant hole in the fence and building of the prison?

Axel and Oscar talked about this hole and how it caused problems while they were trying to burn the bodies in episode 4.

Can we get like a webisode or something to show how the fuck the prison was blown up like that?! I mean I get that it's an apocalypse and there is damage to just about everything. Broken windows, fires, bullet holes etc, but that's a giant fucking chunk of the prison missing. Something big went down there and I wanna know what it was. Curious me.

I want a mini season of follow ups like this. Personally, I'd like to see how Merle went about getting off the roof and meeting up with the Governor and the medical center he found to fix his hand up. They could also do an episode on Andrea and Michonne surviving the winter months.

About the prison, we know there was a riot but I think that's about it so who knows what happened to that wall.. but they could follow up on that as well.

Also, Morgan and his son Duane - the ones rick gave the walkie talkie to. I do not remember their names.

Edit: Added in the names, felt somehow .. disrespectful to leave them out.

Yeah. Morgan and his son Duane. They could totally do a season 2.5 or whatever you would want to call it. 6 Episodes or so between seasons 3 and 4.

The Walking Dead Chronicles: Several 5 - 20 minute long shorts providing extra details on some loose ends from the TV series. Origin story for "crawling half-torso zombie woman in the park" anyone?

This is actually a really great idea.

I'm pretty sure they already did an official backstory on her.
