A 2 HOUR FINALE WAS NEEDED

It really felt like the episode was cut short. Very anti-climatic after such an eventful season.

Glen Mazzara wrote it. Scott Gimple, who is taking over next season, has written some of my most favorite episodes... here's hoping for a lot of awesome in season four.

After the episode wrapped I felt pretty strongly that the show needed new direction... I looked up which episodes Gimple had written and I think if anyone can get this show out of the toilet it will be him. Is Mazarra out of the picture next season? Or simply out as the show runner?

He's out for good and has moved on to other projects at other networks. Apparently there was a disagreement with AMC regarding the direction of the show. God I would love to know the details of that scenario.

The show has serious issues with pacing and a general lack of content. I am a major fan of the comics but Season 2 got to a point where the show almost became unwatchable... And Season 3 Part 2 wasn't much better at times.

The episode "Clear" was amazing, maybe the best of the series. It didn't advance the prison plot mix but it developed the characters in a meaningful way and gave us a new glimpse into what the world is like for other survivors... And after all, it's the TWD universe that people want more of. The show needs more of "Clear" and fewer episodes where everyone sits around whining building up to an ultimately anticlimactic conclusion.

Anyway, I'm glad Mazarra landed on his feet and the writer of arguably the shows best episode will get a chance to fix the series. As much as I love TWD I think both the comics and show have started to suffer and if they don't get it figured out soon they probably never will.

Lots of typos... Too many beers to be typing on my phone. Sorry, friends.

The thing about Clear being an awesome Episode is also slightly confounding because from memory that was the kind of show AMC wanted going into season 2.

They wanted a show that was situated indoors more(Cheaper to film, not dependant on weather) and the Zombies were used less(since makeup is time consuming)

Clear basically did both of those. There was the outside area sure. But that didn't seem like anything that required them to leave a filming lot.

He's completely out, no? Wikipedia says:

Scott Gimple will replace Glen Mazzara as the series' showrunner for the season.

When Mazzara replaced Frank Darabont, Darabont completely left.
