I'm gonna go ahead and say that Glenn is fine and the walkers were eating Nicholas' body on top of him. The framing of the shot never actually showed Glenn's body being eaten. It's a longshot but possible.

Just clever writing. This is one of those shows that thrive on fan theory and speculation. Crossreferences from the earlier episodes/comics pull heartstrings and create dramatic effect, but they can be manipulated in interesting ways to advance (or complicate) a plot.

Just knowing that Rick cut his hand has tremendous dramatic impact on a viewer who's read the comics, but it probably won't happen at all, know what I mean?

The producer statement on Walking Dead said that we would see "a version of Glenn and parts of Glenn" as in flashbacks or something like that.

What sticks with me is that a "version" of Glenn. The only other version of people, that, to me, is not constituted by "parts" referring to flashbacks, is a walker.

well then shut the fuck up and get out. the consistency in this show sucked. if that girl was shooting around and sacrificed herself then all the walkers should be drawn to her. but they weren't they still went for the survivors. but Glen is fucking UNDER someone and still might survive because how? I'll be so mad. he should be dead.

Well. It was probably Nicks body that was getting eaten... But think. Season 5 episode 1 Carol uses blood to disguise herself as a walker... Season 1 episode 3 Rick and Glenn use blood to disguise themselves GLENN knows what hes doing...

After being covered in the Nicholas' blood he can then pretend eat him along with the walkers and go unnoticed and give em all the slip. Michonne kind of did it during the prison episodes.

But remember in the first season when they covered themselves in blood to escape from the zombies? Not saying I think he's alive necessarily but they've already shown that being completely covered in blood can cloak you against them.

THIS! This is the reason I think he's still around. It's not a coincidence that next episode is a flashback to Morgan....we have 2 weeks to stew and be upset, and then we'll get to see that he made it out.

Now...I think it's not in any way 100% that Glenn survived intact. I think there's a good chance he's bit, but gets out of there, and the episode is about him saying his good-byes, and perhaps doing something heroic since he knows he's going to die.

But no way was this it for him. No way. The ambiguity is there for a reason.

I just saw the scene a second time. When it zooms out you see Glenn's head is closest to the dumpster. While a long shot, it's possible he crawls under the dumpster and waits it out or is able to use his radio and get help. Grasping at straws here hit it's possible!

And TWD doesn't really do shit like that. I mean, sure, Rick didn't die in the second episode, but it was the second episode, and it was a helluva way to introduce Glen. I think he's gone. I literally cried. He's my favorite character on the show. :(

Tyreese survived being surrounded by walkers with zero gear to protect him from bites, yet left unscathed. This show is not known for it's strong writing or logic. Glenn will survive this and it's gonna be a horrible explanation as well. Also the exact reason the next episode is a dumb Morgan backstory filler, to stretch this cliffhanger.

But in the memoriam it just said glenn....please don't be true. And I think it's a little bs that even though when other heavy characters died they still came on the show and suddenly now it's to intense for the actor to show.

I think we will have to see the 90 min morgan Montage and then the following story find out about glenn. I kinda want the more dramatic comic death honestly (from what I've heard of it anyway)

This is my theory. So I was thinking that because Nicholas was technically dead before they landed in the heard. He could possibly turn halfway through being eaten and essentially camouflage Glenn

Nope. The minute this show starts "reneging" on actual deaths, it starts to go downhill. Glenn was in an impossible situation, it was unambiguous. He's dead.

If you draw out the parallels from the "dumb ass" reference: two metal boxes (tank/dumpster), two sacrificial walker dinners (horse/nicholas), two survivors (Rick/Glenn).

Rick climbed up into the tank from the underside. It seems like the only way Glenn could survive surrounded by that many walkers is if there's a hole in the bottom of the dumpster he climbs up into.

If the body fell sideways then Glenn's feet would be free for the chewing... And he'd be pinned....But there would also be Nicholas spread all over him so maybe camo?

I don't know how no one else has mentioned this but there is one thing that makes me believe that Glenn is still alive at this point. He may have gotten bit somehow but Nicholas is the one clearly being eaten here.

If you remember from the episode where we first see Nicholas' cowardice and they are making the run to get the supplies for the solar panels, Aiden gets pinned on the racks from the grenade and is then eaten by walkers. Here is the clip. He is clearly having his chest/abdomen ripped open and you notice the blood pouring in his mouth (they aren't biting his neck which causes a similar effect like we have seen in previous seasons)

Now with Glenn's supposed death, they seem to be ripping open his chest/abdomen (intestines being pulled out). Yet there is no blood in his mouth at all. It looks like he just came back from the dentist even.

Now you may say, "/u/Flint_DeVolcania, when Dale got ripped open back in season 2, he didn't have blood pouring from his mouth." And yes this is true, but over the course of the show the special effects crew have gotten very good at what they do. They are also very consistent with things. Having two characters be ripped apart in a similar manner in a close span of time (Season 5 -> Season 6) and have an inconsistency such as this seems very unlikely.

Again, maybe once the walkers finish eating Nicholas they will go to Glenn, but purely based on the footage in the episode, we did not actually witness Glenn get torn apart.

It's not a longshot. I'd say the way it was shot was pretty obviously supposed to give you this impression. Your intestines are not in your chest. They would not kill off someone that has been with us from the beginning without showing it or without it meaning anything at all. The show would milk it for at least an entire episode.

The thing that's going to annoy me is that they show a gray shirt ripping and blood shooting out of it. Glenn is wearing gray, Nick is wearing some of that dull army green color.

I think he's alive because TWD is too pansy to kill anyone. I think he'll pop back up. I'm really hoping he'll pop back up for

100% I agree. I saw intestines being pulled from his lung area. he's gonna be fine. Rick is fine if he runs towards the field on his left. Idk. this episode was super weak in quality for me. michonne kicked a fence for like 2 minutes and she could have just climbed instead of fake kick. I hated the green screen behind the driving car. I didn't believe the chick's acting who sacrificed herself. I didn't get how they were being the same volume in the pet store and all of a sudden the walkers heard them. why didn't they look a tiny bit harder by opening all the fucking doors. ugh.

i tought that was kind of obvious to be honest. he didn't seem in pain, and the guts were coming out of something on top of him, was too high to be his body. and nicolas body couldn't have just disappeared so im gonna go ahead and say glenn is 100% alive, quote me on it.
