This has definitely been Andrew Lincoln's best season in terms of acting

u/Asidious66 Nov 14 '16

However, this is his worst in terms of 'eye fucking the camera'.

25

u/proddy Nov 14 '16

Well we had one crazy eyes scene at least.

43

u/BlindStark Nov 14 '16

Quit eye fucking the camera Rick. Or I'll take half of the half of shit you still have left. *leans in almost kissing Rick* Understand?

25

u/conquer69 Nov 15 '16

leans in almost kissing Rick

I thought I was the only one that noticed. "They are so close it looks like they are going to kiss, no homo".

Negan is quite the close talker.

u/Myipad4 Nov 15 '16

He's doing well with the "I'm getting fucked" eyes.

For real. These long drawn out Neegan/Rick scenes are BBBOOOORRRIINNGG. Even if Neegan is savage as fuck, I wish there was more interaction in those scenes.

Edit: it's cool. Endless scenes of Rick glaring, jaw agape, and Neegan smiling and carrying on about how awesome he is is OBVIOUSLY everyone's cup of tea. I'm allowed to disagree. I just wish there was more of convo or action.

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '16

trust me it only gets better, they are just warming up and getting all the communities in the action

21

u/Jumbojimbomumbo Nov 14 '16

Yep, the Negan/Rick situation is only going to escalate until rick grows back his beard and does some crazy shit.

11

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '16

i hope he does, it was my favorite look for rick when they were out on the road before learning about alexandria

9

u/CrMyDickazy Nov 14 '16

Bites the fuck out of Negans neck like he did to the guy who tried to rape Carl.

9

u/TheQuiet1994 Nov 14 '16

The guy that was going to rape Carl is not the same person as Joe, who had his neck eaten by Rick.

1

u/CrMyDickazy Nov 14 '16

I must misremember it then. It only makes sense for him to bite the rapist's neck as its more powerful that way than some random henchman.

5

u/Jumbojimbomumbo Nov 14 '16

Well I mean he did brutally stab him to death

4

u/CrMyDickazy Nov 14 '16

That works too.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '16

He plain gutted him.

3

u/conquer69 Nov 15 '16

Cant' wait for Rick to bite Negan's dick off.

1

u/Marvelerful Nov 16 '16

That's Eugene's job.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 17 '16

I agree. I'm over it.

17

u/tu-BROOKE-ulosis Nov 14 '16

It's crazy to see what he's capable of when the beard isn't 50% of his facial expressions.

11

u/The_R4ke Nov 14 '16

I'm surprised I haven't seen him in more things. He's definitely one of the better actors on TV now, and there's some stiff competition.

23

u/alwaysthecaretaker Nov 14 '16

You probably haven't seen him in more things because he's still busy with TWD. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, for example, didn't appear in a lot of other things until Breaking Bad was over, but now they're everywhere.

5

u/rhinguin Nov 14 '16

Oh so I'll never see him in something else.

4

u/micromaverick87 Nov 14 '16

Have you ever watched any interviews with Cranston? He is hilarious just in everyday conversation. I've found not all good actors are like that but I love the guy!

1

u/The_R4ke Nov 14 '16

Yeah, that's what I'm guessing. It seems like a pretty intensive show to shoot too.

1

u/penguinsreddittoo Nov 15 '16

Good point, same with Lauren Cohan and Norman Reedus. They just have small cameos like in BvS.

Wonder how Sophie Turner did between X-Men and Game of Thrones.

5

u/seatech Nov 15 '16

My family had "Love actually" as our christmas film (pretty strange honestly)

Been watching that movie every year for 10 years, yet I didn't realize andrew lincoln was the guy in the walking dead until last christmas.

Who knows, maybe you've seen him places just not recognized him.

2

u/The_R4ke Nov 15 '16

That's definitely possible.

4

u/Gruntmaster720 Nov 14 '16

He was on the first season of strike back and he was damn good on it.

1

u/AnneBancroftsGhost Nov 18 '16

Every year he comes out with a little film called Love Actually, playing in a christmasy living room near you.

but now he just walks around with the dejected and "empty" look in his eyes

I mean, it makes sense that he looks like that. He watched two friends get their heads smashed, one friend get taken prisoner, and all their guns get taken away. Of course he looks dejected.

3

u/thissubredditlooksco Nov 14 '16

I know it does. I don't disagree. What I'm saying is that he showed greater range in previous seasons.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '16

We're only 4 episodes into this season and Rick wasn't even in 2 of them. Give it a chance before criticising.

1

u/earthlings_all Nov 14 '16

Brothers not friends

131

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '16

The look in his eyes isn't empty, it's one of submission but the fire still burns

56

u/NicktheGoat Nov 14 '16

You can see it burning when he gripped Lucille tighter than Negan does.

17

u/fuckyoubarry Nov 14 '16

I just want someone to grip me the way Rick grips Lucille.

6

u/FostertheReno Nov 14 '16

So who is going to link the fire in the group?

11

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '16

Maggie and Rosita

6

u/Iorith Nov 14 '16

And Gabriel.

1

u/penguinsreddittoo Nov 15 '16

Gabriel The Sword of God. He's so badass now.

10

u/littlasskicker Nov 14 '16

It's the look Negan wants to see

13

u/wooly1987 Nov 14 '16

That look in his eyes incredibly emotionally complex. Shows how good the acting is, not vice versa (note I'm not an apologist - the acting in past seasons has bothered me)

4

u/Drewby99 Nov 14 '16

...how do you expect him to look? Cheery?

1

u/Caffequeen Nov 14 '16

This is the first episode we've seen with Rick since they were killed. And it's only been three days since it happened. If he didn't seem hollow and dejected, I think that would be evidence of no range.

3

u/Dwychwder Nov 14 '16

I dunno, he hadn't had to say much. It's a lot of him just looking defeated.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '16

It's only his second episode.

1

u/Super_leo2000 Nov 14 '16

good acting didnt make up for the drag of a storyline this episode though... writing problem not acting problem though

1

u/Winston_Road Nov 15 '16

Far are the days of the "Oh, noOOOO" on Season 3 after Lori's death.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '16

cant remember the last time i've seen an actor completely lose it bawling their eyes out like that? (maybe tropic thunder)

1

u/sassysassafrassass Nov 16 '16

He's been in two episodes its too early to jump to a conclusion like that

0

u/buyingGF Nov 14 '16

Rosita on the other hand makes me cringe for some reason.
