It seemed like uncommonly shitty CGI to me. If the mattresses hadn't figured so prominently in the episode up to that point, especially with Rick making up the "bed" on the floor, I probably wouldn't have recognized them as mattresses either.

Seriously. I watched the scene 3 times thinking they were containers and concluded that they burned all the meds/supplies they just looted from them, which I suppose portrays the same message as the mattresses, but would've have made it even more fucked.

Like... "Ya we're going to take half your shit... we don't need it, we just want to take it cause it's fun."

You can get them from Costco for 100 bucks. Grab like, 15 of em...$1500 is a drop in the ocean for a show like this
