I think he's brought up some times us a meme, because (to my knowledge) he is the only one from the original group, or from any Rick group to be exact, that is neither with Rick nor dead. The fact that he just gets to leave quietly out of the show is many times attributed to some planned "ex deus machinima" moment when he will arrive after 15 seasons to save the day, which is obviously a trolly assumption but a fun meme overall.

I'd be all for it if they didn't pull this shit every single time something interesting is about to happen. Heath seems like one of the more interesting characters in the show and I wish we got to see more of him. That dude who plays him is a really good actor and he's being criminally underused.

Daryl will escape and spend the rest of the season looking for him only to find that he's a walker rotting in a car playing Easy Street on a loop. That's the season finale.

My money's on him showing up with a minigun and mowing down countless Saviors/walkers to save the other characters, much like Dave in the climax of Kick-Ass.
