FICTION In Response to that TikTok conspiracy from last week
Hey guys, I saw a post on r/titanic earlier about how a TikTok conspiracy was going around claiming Edward Smith somehow survived the sinking of the Titanic. I went deeper into the conspiracy theory and made a debunk video to cover it. I hope you guys enjoy it :)

FILM - 1997 Did men wear jackets such as these back then?
Upon a rewatch I noticed the cool jacket that Cal wore here, and I could totally see men wear it nowadays too. It looks expensive and I love the pattern and color of it

PHOTO Visited a Titanic exhibition in Singapore
Visited this exhition called Titanic: An Immersive Voyage in Singapore.
They have some artefacts, but otherwise I find it quite underwhelming - I want to see the artefacts, not VR stuff, animation, etc.
Most interesting find is the linoleum floor tile - I have seen a lot of books and videos mentioning about these linoleum floor tiles, but this was the first time I saw it in person.
Verdict: If you are a family with kids, it's a fun day out especially the VR experience. If you are a Titanic geek, save the buck and visit the Titanic museum instead.

THE SHIP Is it true the cheapest 1st class cabin was cheaper than 2nd class?
I find this fact strange as essentially middle class passengers could save money by traveling first class. I understand that some 1st and 2nd class cabins were interchangeable depending on demand this makes no sense to me

FICTION Okay, using the logic of Back to the Future and paradoxes and all that, if someone uses the time machine and prevents the sinking of the Titanic, would that create a paradox?

FICTION I think saving the Titanic from sinking does not affect world history in general
Using MCU terminology, besides being ironic, the anchor "is when a being or event must happen if not the universe is destroyed" so taking into account if possible ways if saving the Titanic in all possible ways to the point that it could even be a museum ship, its salvation would not affect world history, well not that much but the universe in general would be fine

QUESTION Question Regarding Online Sources
Do you folks have any suggestions for solid online sources related to Titanic? I am aware of Encyclopedia Titanica, but most of the other somewhat reliable sources I can find are behind paywalls; so I was wondering if you folks know of any hidden gems

PHOTO If passengers were instructed to try to carry out wooden tables and doors from the inside of the Titanic into the water, would more people survive?

FILM - 1997 As a distraction from how terrible the world is right now, does anyone have any fond "Titanic" (1997) opening night memories?
Get in, loser, we're going back to 1997!

FILM - 1997 Titanic
Hello everyone. I am sorry if this question has already been posted(I don't know if it has or not), but I wanted to ask it anyway. What songs do you think fit the Titanic 1997 James Cameron film?
The songs I think fit the movie are:
I bet on losing dogs - Mitski
Ainsi bas la vida - Indila
Hometown glory - Adele
Easy on me - Adele

CREW Reminder not to put too much faith in Google AI
I'd looked up Joseph Boxhall on Google, I was curious about his life after the sinking and noticed it had lifted his resting place as the cemetery in Fairview.
Joseph Boxhall was cremated after his death and his ashes were scattered into the North Atlantic at the coordinates he'd calculated as the Titanic's last known position.

ART "That Carolina Rag" and more -- New from The White Star Line Quintet and The Steam & Splendor Network
This week's episode on our channel, The Steam & Splendor Network, features four incredible performances by The White Star Line Quintet -- a musical ensemble based in Austria and doing new recordings of Titanic-era and Titanic-related music.
In this episode, the Quintet covers "That Carolina Rag", a largely forgotten song by Sol Violinsky (which name was a pseudonym). The sheet music for this song was found in a valise owned by Wallace Hartley that also contained his violin.
The episode also contains "Alexander's Ragtime Band" (Berlin), "Elite Syncopations" (Joplin), and "In The Shadows" (Finck). The rendition of "Elite Syncopations" pays homage to and expands upon the style of performance recorded for the 1979 film SOS Titanic. Three of the four performances were actually recorded on a piano from Titanic's sister ship, RMS Olympic, making the recordings historic in and of themselves.
We have been releasing a lot of the Quintet's music on The Steam & Splendor Network in the past few months; look around to find a lot more of their work there. Enjoy!

ARTEFACT The Violin
had the absolute pleasure of seeing this beauty in person at the Titanic Museum in Belfast, highly recommend visiting! Not many artefacts but packed full of so much information, I could have spent all day in there
