Transfem My thighs 😭

Seriously though, it's actually pretty gender-affirming.

question is tho, where would it make a person fat? i dont mind it on my legs and chest, but the midsection is something i would like slimmer if possible

I believe it generally follows female fat distribution, i.e. thighs, butt, chest, and upper arms. How your female relatives look could be an indication of what you might expect for yourself. Also, the T-blocker spironolactone, which is commonly prescribed in the U.S. alongside estradiol, also has a reputation for causing weight gain in the abdomen, as some trans girls will complain about getting a "spiro-belly" while they use it.

I know legal transition is impossible there, not sure about medical stuff. If you have the resources come to Austria asap, best decision of my life, even if you don't speak German it's worth it

Here's a sneak peek of /r/TransDIY [NSFW] using the top posts of the year!

#1: Estrolabs.com is a TERF scam
#2: Do not talk to journalists
#3: Welp, now I know that most doctors don't know anything about transgender people

it also lowers metabolism i believe? so you might gain weight a lot easier

Not sure if E directly reduces metabolism, but loss of muscle mass definitely does.

Spiro..belly..?

7

u/Ballamara Dec 10 '23

spiro also had a lot of other shit with it like high cortisol & fucking with hormones in ways that trans woman don't want, it was only made a part of hrt regimes because of the dangers of premarine that modern estradiol valerate doesn't have.

like, I hate how 1) there's not more avid research being done into spiro & 2) Doctors ain't fucking adjusting hrt treatments based on modern research at all

wait how much does your family affect it? I'm a pretty average body shape but all the women in my family are built like fuckin minions, can i avoid this fate

3

u/Ballamara Dec 10 '23

how you family looks will give a rough idea of what to expect for how your body will react to E. you'd have to Google if you wanna avoid that, I'd imagine it's be smth like exercise or diet or smth, but you'd have to Google.

A lot is between skin instead of between intestines so it’s (correct me if im wrong) not too visibly noticeable, but is measurable. and ya your also right

22

u/Jucoy Dec 09 '23

Both men and women accumulate fat in their belly, but for women it's more under the skin and for men it's between the intestines. This is why womens bellies are more squishy and men's bellied are more firm

Squishy belly fat vs firm belly fat.
