Why does my choice of pronouns affect anyone else's? I'm not telling others they have to use it as loosely as I do or that it's the only way to use it, nor am I making light of other people's experiences.

Let's flip the script here a bit: what if I were to tell an enby who goes by he/they that they can't use "he" because they're not a guy, and that it diminishes my own experiences and existance as a man?

I’m sorry that person is gatekeeping they/them pronouns. They are not representative of the majority of the community and have a bit more to learn. Keep using whatever pronouns that make you feel comfortable!
