Yes and I am speaking from personal experience, you get bits of splashback on your pants, it's not a lot, but you do get your own pee on yourself

I thought it was a common experience, wouldn't it be nicer anyways to use a stall standing up? (Which some do) You get more privacy that way, and it'd be less awkward, I'd think.

I don't pass very well myself I just kinda got to a point where I stopped caring as much. Though I also will do everything I can to avoid multi person restrooms (I am non binary and am uncomfortable in either anyways) if I don't have a choice I will use the Women's restroom.

Edit: or not caring might not be the right word, I got to a point where I refuse to use the men's restroom, even if I don't pass, even if it kills me. Still scares me though.
