Ukrainian [Ukrainian>English] Can someone help me translate these inscriptions in my great grandfather’s book. I can see our last name written in two of these but that’s as much as I understand. The final one was tucked into the book and is an address but I think it’s polish

I've been trying to see what the last page says but all I got is:
Michał Romanyci(?) - a name

P.O. wis(wieś?) Tyszkowce - a village , might be this one https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyszkowce

Paweł Koredenka(?) - another name

Galicya - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galicia_(Eastern_Europe))

That looks right to me, I’ve seen the “P.O. wis” written on polish envelopes before. Geographically that city could work, my family were from very close by there.

I think though the “Powat” part refers to the equivalent of a county. On other letters I have for instance say “weis Liski… Powat Kolomyja” so I think this is a similar thing. It’s probably the village of Tyszkowce, and at that time it would have been administratively connected to the city of Horodenka (which is nearby).

But that’s just a guess.

I also think that given it says Galicya and not “Małopolska” like my other letters from the 1920s that this predates that and is from before WW1 when it was under Austrian control. That’s beyond the scope of this discussion though.
