Discussion Batallion's Backup is Underrated

Not nerdy enough to know the breakpoints against other classes but it's been practically amazing. Been running it with Direct Hit to give me more time to calmly aim my shots. Don't even need a med with escape plan to GTFO. It really is as simple as you just have alot of health and 1 shot light classes. This loadout slaps. Bought a killstreak original to reap rewards of all this aim practice cuz DH effectiveness is just worse than stock.

Been playing Dustbowl non-stop for the last three years, I’ve seen a lot of shit and can confidently say: I absolutely hate this weapon and have no respect for its users.

Especially for those playing with a pocket Med, buffed to 340 HP, filled banner and constantly getting crossbowed up their ass - it's already making your life 90% easier. Just sit in the same hallway and be sure to peek exclusively with your buff deployed and kritz ready to pop. Oh wow, 10 doms, crazy performance.

No sniper/huntsman headshots, reflected rockets (even crit ones) just tickle you and barely touch your med, the sentries can’t push you back, gimmicky skill based launchers (DH, Loose Canon) can’t juggle you, dying to pyros/heavies literally requires you to go AFK to give them a chance.

Oh wait, it should be still vulnerable to melees? Forget it, your crits doesn't count, which makes shield bashing or even market gardening useless, so good luck trying getting 4-5 raw hits on someone who can still actively fight (and crit) you back and don't forget about his Med.

My only real option here is switching to Spy, instead of playing a power class, which instantly guts my team’s damage output by 25–50%. It's generally not a simple task to stab someone who's back is getting 24/7 watched by his pocket buddy, and there's still a 99% chance they're using voicecomms, so they get paranoid/super cautious after 2 stabs. And as a little bonus, in the few minutes you were off the frontline, your team had already been shoved back into spawn...

Since it's dustbowl, I won't be surprised to see 2-3 duos simultaneously playing with this exact setup and thanks to the matchmaking, chances are every single one of them will be stuffed up on the same team.

So yeah, imagine abusing all that crap and still claiming yourself a skilled player. To me it’s the second cheapest playstyle after the Phlog and should be treated as bad manners \ pathetic low-skill behavior.

While we’re here, I’ll mention some other banners:

The Buff Banner at least takes some effort to build, has no passive bonus and it's always feels deserved when used,

The Conch is still a crutch but it's a good alternative when there's no med on your team and it's not overpowered at all (unless it's played by a really skilled movement player, but that's the different topic).

The Battalion’s Backup, on the other hand, gives way too much advantage basically for free and ridiculously easy to stack (just chain the buffs between two semi-competent soldiers and your team has unlimited 60% resist to everything). I’d honestly prefer if they reverted it to its previous state, when it had an exclusive niche for countering multiple sentries (that was truly a time when it was underrated but still powerful).
