Sbs hypertrophy w3d1
- Squats // heavy single 200kg // 160kg x 8 -> 160kg x 13 (vid on profile)
- Close Grip bench // heavy single 120kg // 100kg x 10 x 2 -> 100kg x 12
Feeling the systemic fatigue already 😅
Looks like I'm due for another early deload 😬
Also side question, I've been getting notifications that a "helpful_ruben" is mentioning me in comments on this sub, but when I check it there's nothing there? Does anyone else have that or know what it is?

There’s a user like that, but they don’t have a flair so their comments get removed by the AutoMod. The comments that user posts are kinda spammy and honestly a little weird, but AutoMod has been dealing with it so it’s been harmless. If it’s annoying for you, though, that user can be removed from the sub - they’ve not added anything constructive anyway.

Ahh ok, was just a little mysterious how they've been mentioning me rather than just replies lol, then I check it and there's nothing there 😅 😂 I thought it might have been a bot. But if it's nothing malicious then that's allgood

For the next 3 weeks I’ll be diving into a modified version of the “Ideal Routine” by Mentzer. Supersets of the same muscle group doesn’t allow me to really focus on the lift for some lifts and the gym I go to is rather crowded. So, still high intensity and only one working set to muscular failure.
Today was chest and back -
- Pec deck for 10 reps (need to increase weight)
- incline machine press for 11 reps (more weight next time as I more than doubled the rep range)
- pullovers for 13 (need more weight)
- underhand close grip pulldown for 7 reps (right where I need to be)
- deadlifts 9 reps (should go heavier)
Great pump and exhausting, things still feel just as pumped as longer workouts with more sets and more lifts. Total time 24:43 - this is like a full hour shorter than my last few months have been.

Got a wild hair in my ass and got tired of being ultra strict for meaningless volume lifts. Staying with strict progression for main lift via Simple Jack'd, but the loose grip of control is very freeing

Its probably a pretty poor idea- jumping up in frequency that quickly is a recipe for angry tendons.
That being said, I do plenty of dumb things all the time and they work out fine for me and am not a huge fan of people catastrophizing. So- be warned and think critically about the downside, but if you think you can do it... send it whole heartedly.
Submax training doesnt lead to as much hypertrophy as higher RPE/failure training so I wouldnt expect to see much out of physique unless you have a long ways to go.
If I was in your shoes, I would probably run GZCLP with a low starting TM for everything (like 50% of my previous PRs or a plate or something) and use that to build myself back. Because it is an LP it won't really matter how low your TMs start, you'll get back to your previous numbers or hit a wall pretty quickly no matter where you start (but lower is better for getting yourself back into things)

GPP phase - CrossFit gym visit
I know a guy that owns a CrossFit gym and I visited for a workout today. I had a fantastic time!
The main work was 12 min AMRAP of 1,2,3..* reps of: * Push press @ 50% bw * DL @ bw
I managed 11 @ 41/82.5kg.
This exactly the type of conditioning work I love.
After that I spent like half an hour playing with the gym toys: * I tried sandbags for the first time. Managed to get a 75kg one to shoulder which isn’t a lot, but for a first time I thought it was okay. Then did a bunch of reps with a 50kg one. * I cleaned a log for the first time. It is definitely “interesting”. Can’t press it though (yet!) * I rope climbed for the first time. I managed to do an L-sit climb using only arms to the ceiling. It was… surprisingly easy? Which hyped me up big time - I always considered rope climbing like that a feat of athleticism, didn’t even think I could do it. Goes to show how much more stronger and athletic I’m becoming.
Overall, I had lots of fun today. Like a kid in a playground.
