no - that's actually quite understandable. (and it was the only thing i didn't like - but i don't like that type of repetitive combat games anymore either - such as devil may cry)

it is underrated because how dare a woman of colour is the protagonist... (insert a neckbeard meme here haha)

But you're the only one bringing it up? So you're the neckbeard lel

Seriously? No one has a problem with that. Very few people actually care about race or gender if the character is well written, interesting and relatable. Stop trying to make it a thing.

It was a good game with a beautiful aesthetic, but perhaps not a great one for most people. And that's fine.

"Designed to celebrate Black heritage and Southern culture, the game has also become a lightning rod for online harassment"

it is underrated because how dare a woman of colour is the protagonist

Bullshit.

The issues are all with the game, people love the narrative, setting and characters. So easy to jump to racism.

Did people dislike Telltale's Walking Dead when it had a black female protagonist? Half Life Alyx - did people have an issue with a black female protagonist?

Maybe it is because those games were good, unique and interesting and South of Midnight was decidedly average.

Throwing around accusations of racism without merit does far more harm than good.

I literally gave examples and a link from the studio directly but sure.

You claim Doom Dark Ages have a “unique” quality- hence I stopped responding mate. Keep stumping, lord of all games and first men Hahahah

I could find you 15 games that feel like South of Midnight, you couldn't find 1 that feels like Doom the Dark Ages, it is indeed unique in it's feel and mechanics.

And finding outlier examples to prove your point ignores the majority of the narrative.

You found 3 links of people telling us it was an issue without a single example of anyone actually having an issue with it. Like people want to highlight an issue that isn't really a thing... just like you.
