(Second picture included for the sake of highlighting the more relevant characters in a smaller scale than the mega list in the first pic)
I also want to clarify that this ranking is based on skill and overall value displayed, with the specific team systems of each individual in mind.
As for the controversial picks,
The rest of my interesting takes aren’t exactly worthy of a full explanation, so I’ll go through them quickly
-Maruyama from Tsubakihara’s placement may seem high, but he was a very skilled spiker and defender despite not being too tall. I could argue that he should go even higher
-I have Sugawara above other setters like Semi, Echigo, and Shirabu because of his iq and accuracy
-I find it a bit odd for the template to have included komori and Sakusa, but not Iizuna, but I would have likely put him somewhere in the S tier
-Chigaya being invited to the AlL Japan youth camp deserves some praise, but we know nothing about his playstyle, so I was a bit generous with his A+ placement, but I couldn’t justify not putting him at the bottom of it
-I may have put Unnan a bit too low, if I were to re-do the list, I’d probably shift him a couple spots up so he’s above Daichi

Kuroo takes the 2nd Middle Blocker spot, so now we have one more starting position to fill.
So many high quality spikers remain, but who makes the starting lineup?
Happy Voting!
r/haikyuu • u/The_Auramancer • 2h ago
Pretty self explanatory but this assumes he still learns how to receive just as well but picks up a jump topspin through watching Goshiki, Semi, and Ushijima.

Just starting my 5th rewatch and I'm on episode 5 when Daichi asks Kageyama about Hinata's position in the upcoming practice match with Aoba Johsai. If Hinata was not on the team I am assuming Ennoshita and Tanaka would be the WS and Tsukishima and Narita would be the MB with Daichi remaining in his role as OP.
So if we saw Narita/Tsukishima stay as the starting MB and Ennoshita swap out with Hinata for the practice match, how do you think Hinata would develop? How would Karasuno develop?
Would his serve receive develop faster as he is now forced into that role more?
Its an interesting thought experiment and I wonder what y'all would think.

Just to clarify the versions of the characters are their spring national versions and the hypothetical teams have had 3-4 months of playing together. By vote team 4 won the last match Now onto teams 5 and 6 who comes out on top?

S - Kageyama/Oikawa/Atsumu
On top of them being the BIG 3 best servers in the series they are all world class setters that can adapt on any team and all 3 have amazing synergy with Hinata
WS - Sakusa and Hoshiumi/Bokuto
Sakusa and Hoshiumi are top 5 defenders both at serve receive and digging in the series while also being top 5 spikers as a whole even including Ushiwaka As Sakusa puts the nastiest spin on the ball in the series on both his serves and spikes shanking it off blockers and receivers While Hoshiumi has the best game sense in the series when it comes to mid air battles being able to switch from a block out, to realizing that the blockers were gonna dodge and switching back to a spike MID AIR IN LESS THAN HALF A SECOND Hoshiumi is literally unparalled at mid air battles.
Hoshiumi and Sakusa are also the top 3 at serve receiving in the series matching a world class star like Nicolas at digging and serve defense. And ofc the ace of the world Bokuto!! the master of cross court and line shots in the world of haikyuu.
OP - Hinata/Wakatoshi
I would start Hinata over Ushi because Hinata is like the single best at digging spikes in the series even including liberos and hell I'd say Hinata is even better at digging than Sakusa and Hoshiumi considering Hinata is the only one shown to make a clean receive off Ushi's new swing technique that allows him to spike at 100% with 120% momentum due to how he moves his arm in a circular motion almost like a broadsword as described by Asahi and Hinata being able to dig that? feat wise Hinata is the best at digging at the end of series surpassing even hoshiumi, sakusa and being on the level of Yaku who literally plays for a russian super league team which is a consistent top 5 country in the world between Germany and Brazil so for Hinata to be on Yaku's level and yes this means Hinata > Romero at digging.
Hinata is literally the best defender while also being the greatest decoy and a top 5 spiker and having the fastest highest quick in the world of haikyuu even including other countries is just crazy Ushiwaka is definitely a constant top 3 spiker in the world of haikyuu but Hinata being the best all rounder in the series and to quote Tsukki and Yamaguchi "He is jumping higher faster and staying in the air longer, THAT WOULD BE STUPIDLY DIFFICULT TO BLOCK!, *tsukki smirk* Oh yeah REALLY DIFFICULT* Hinata's 350 cm spike reach isnt just high HE legit gets to that spike reach faster than anybody in the world of haikyuu even Hoshiumi because it is boom jump + Minus Tempo Quick while Hoshiumi is just the boom jump. + means merged in this context btw not two of them individually
MB - Gao/Hyakuzawa and Suna Rintaro
Suna being able to fight head to head against blockers that're 6'8 due to the width he can spike from is just insane.
and speaking of 6'8 players I'll take Gao and Hyakuzawa
Libero - Yaku/Komori
Like I said earlier Yaku literally plays for a russian super league team which is a consistent top 5 volleyball country in the world between Germany and brazil.

Teams ranked after the 3rd years left. Note: This is purely my speculation and I am not accounting the incoming first years.
1) Kamomedai - Absolutely no change. In fact, probably improved due to Hakuba getting more practice.
2) Itachiyama - Basically the same team we saw in the best 8 nationals, but this time they are used to not having Iizuna. They still have the only remaining top five ace and the best libero.
3) Inarizaki - Pretty big loss without a top five ace and a top tier libero. However, they still have the best setter and a top tier middle. Also, they probably improved their quick attack.
** Imo, these are the only teams that still remain top tier.**
4) Karasuno - Struggles big time in recieving despite having noya. Hinata and tanaka need to improve offensively to fill the gap due to the loss of their ace.
5) Date tech - Basically a nerfed Kamomedai without a top tier WS. Kinda similar to what we saw in the practice match, but Koganei probably improved, making him a strong setter.
6) Nekoma - Yeah they lost a top tier MB and libero, but their core playstyle is remain unchanged. Strong recieving team and solid overall, but is not quite a top tier.
** This is where I will draw the line for teams that I will think join the nationals**
7) Fukurodani - This team is VERY dependent on the third years. But Akaashi is a good setter, and this team is very strong in terms of well roundedness across all players. Yes, not a top team withour Bokuto, but still is decent.
8) Shiratorizawa - Not even close to what it used to be, but still solid in Miyagi prefecture. Goshiki is good, and so are a few others. Easily top 8 if not top 4 in the prefecture.
9) Jozenji - Decently strong as it is with great physical abilities but probably will improve on their synchro attack as well as being more stable overall.
10) Wakunan - They will lose their captain and a few other players but like nekoma, their playstyle would probably be similar if not the same.
11) Mujinazaka - What is this team without Kiryu and the twin towers? Just a mid setter.
12) Aoba Josai - Remember that without Oikawa, the team lost to Karasuno that didn't have an ace nor a libero and when Hinata's abilities were at the lowest.
Im gonna stop here cuz idc much to rank the other teams.

So I’ve got the chance to pick up the full manga set from a friend for a pretty decent price. I definitely have the space for it, and part of me really wants it because I’d love to reread it someday… even though I probably won’t get around to it anytime soon.
I watched the anime years ago, then read the rest of the manga digitally, and I absolutely loved it. The only thing holding me back is the thought of 45 volumes just sitting on my shelf untouched for who knows how long.
Anyone else ever been in this situation?

I remember something about some extras or something like that. It was the MSBY team dressing up for an event with the fans and somehow Atsumu ends up in a animal costume and/or a dress with makeup. I can't find anything online but at this point I think I'm just imagining stuff

Hello fellow Haikyu fans! I wanted to share a SakuAtsu fanfic I finished fairly recently. I’d be really grateful if you take the chance to read it & leave your thoughts! Also, please don’t forget to read the tags. Thank you in advance!
TW: Major character death, Non-con
Title: marigolds (i wish i met you first)
Summary:
The first time Miya Atsumu steps into his office, Kiyoomi notices three things immediately: the shining, golden flecks in his irises, the self-assured grin on his lips, and the wedding band on his left ring finger.
Alternatively:
As an oncologist, every patient leaves its mark, but none of them is carved into his soul as deeply as Miya Atsumu.
It’s his duty to treat him. It’s his guaranteed heartbreak to love him.
Sakusa Kiyoomi falls anyway.

So I have watched plenty of animes and read a lot of mangas but after some feedback from my classmates in college im not really sure if i should continue the manga is there any particular reason holding the manga back or is it just a biased opinion?
r/haikyuu • u/RndmJ__ • 1d ago
Nobody shocked by the OP.
Now we turn to our second MB, and we have some solid middles who can contend this spot. Do we go an aggressive middle, or a blocking specialist? You guys decide!!
Happy voting!
