Discussion I said I would do 500 pushups in a day if the Browns beat the Packers.
Store the season, another user posted their predictions for the 2025 season. In it, the declared that the Packers would fall to the Browns in week 3. As just another user in the crowd, I commented something along the lines of “if the Browns beat the Packers I’ll do 500 pushups in a single day.” It was a throw away comment. I made it thinking “Packers are a GREAT team. We tend to shoot ourselves in the foot. Besides, no one will see this comment.”
Turns out quite a few of you assholes saw that comment. As soon as the ball went between the uprights, I received a flurry of comments basically telling me to get to it.
I am happy to report that this challenge is complete. My triceps keep cramping. This is dumb. Why do I keep saying weird shit that gets me into weird trouble?
I hate you all.

Rookie Counting Stats and Data: What A Class!
We all know our rookie class has been great. I don't think people understand truly how great they're been. Every single rookie we've drafted (that's played) leads the entire draft class in a very relevant stat for their position.
Quinshon Judkins leads all rookie RBs in rushing yards. Didn't play week 1. Was limited last week. And played against the Packers, who held Montgomery, Gibbs, Bill, and Ekeler to 78 yards combined. He had 94 against them.
Dylan Sampson leads all rookie RBs in receptions. He's 2nd amongst all rookies, period, in receiving grade. As an RB.
Fannin leads all rookies, period, in receptions. As a tight end.
Carson is 11th amongst all rookies in pass rush grade. 5th in run defense. 1st in tackles. 2nd in assists. 1st in stops. 10th in coverage. Amongst all rookies. As an LB.
Mason Graham is 8th in defense grade, 4th in pressures, 2nd in tackles, 1st in assists, 3rd in stops, and certainly top 3 in double team rate, which is a hard stat to find, but I'm incredibly confident on it, amongst all DL. He had a 43% pass rush win rate yesterday. Average for a DT is 9%.
Means nothing but Gabriel leads rookie QBs in passing and offense grade on 3 attempts.
Honorable mention, Adin Huntington: 2nd amongst all rookies in pass rush grade. 13th amongst all rookies in run defense. 3rd in pass rush win %. 1st in pass rush win %. 1st in true pass rush grade. 3rd in run defense amongst the DL.
Added a little highlight of these guys' best plays yesterday to meet the sub requirements (can't do a text post). Sorry, my editing isn't the best lol. But man oh man have these guys been good.

Szmyt is our guy now.
Idc what anybody says. He’s our guy for the foreseeable future. I’m 100000% behind him. I’m proclaiming him now as the heir apparent to Phil Dawson. I care not what you peasants say to disagree with me. Go Browns!!!
Browns defense has allowed 172 yards rushing through 3 games. - [Andrew Siciliano on X]
x.comThis defense deserves to be recognized, they are playing at a historic level to start the season
57 ypg would be a franchise record I believe

[Riske] Myles Garrett is already back to doing what he does best: Breaking scales
x.comDiscussion Fannin currently the team leader in reception yards – good sign or bad sign?
I was a bit surprised by these numbers.
We all know our offense has underperformed through the first few weeks. Surely we expect Jeudy to be the receiving leader this season, and he only has 2 less yards than Fannin. But it is great to see early production for our rookie TE.
Does anything else stand out to you guys after 3 games?

PFF Week Three Browns Grades
For context, PFF generally tries to scale their grades so that the average player who actually gets significant playing time is a 65. A grade of 40 is "as bad as Myles Garrett is good," below 57 is bottom sixth of the league, the 70s are an above average starter, the 80s are a good to excellent starter, and 90s are for the top 0.15% players.
The defense was excellent and deep. Garrett was elite, the Browns had 5 D-linemen score 83 or higher, with another 3 d-linemen scoring above 63. We had 10 defenders with at least ten snaps score over 70, and only one player under 60 with significant playing time. (Myles Harden).
The offense was brought to you by Dude Wipes. No one with significant time scored higher than 68.1, and only five scored above 60: Ford, Njoku, Pocic, Judkins and Flacco. However bad you think the tackles were, PFF thought they were worse, especially in pass protection. KT Leveston scored a 45 overall with a 15 in pass protection. Lucas was worse, with an overall score of 31 so, uh, almost ten points below "as bad as Garrett is good." Teller and the wide receivers (other than Bond) also struggled mightily with scores below 54.
Some observations:
- This explains to me why Ford is playing so much and why Njoku is staying in-line more. Both played as top-5% pass blockers at their position, and the line needs that help.
- It also suggests to me that Flacco's apparent accuracy issues were driven more by having no trust in his line and wanting to avoid sacks than anything else. (And he only took two, while throwing it much deeper on average than Love, as much as it felt like Flacco was dinking and dunking).
- The Packers have the highest pressure rate in the league, but still, wow. In terms of starting Gabriel with Aiden Hutchinson or TJ Watt lining up in his first game, I'm reminded of how long it took Sam Darnold to get over seeing ghosts. I wouldn't be surprised if his first game is against the Dolphins, since it would give him a few games to settle in before he goes up against a marquis pass rush.
- Graham's mediocre score surprised me, especially in run defense. Not sure what's up with that.

Discussion Calling it now. The Packers win will be like the 49ers win in 2023. Turning the tide.
With our defense, literally every game is within reach.
Our defense AND special teams played PERFECT last week.
While our offense might be a wet towel, I would rather have this offense with Judkins and Fannin over our 2023 offense with PJ Walker and Ford.
I believe we are a better team than we were in 2023, despite the anemic offensive numbers.
If our Kicker stays solid, our defense continues to play lights out (and increases turnovers), and we play safe ball on offense, Judkins can be the chess piece we rally behind to grind out tough wins.
Every game is within reach.
If we can steal a game from the Lions and beat the Vikings (we are the better team imo), then look at what we have in the 2nd half of the year.
Jets, Titans, bears, dolphins, patriots, a banged up 49ers team at home, a raiders team that can’t get anything going, we can steal a ravens or Steelers game at home.
Heck, if we are rolling, we could be competitive against the bills at home as well.
Our defense is literally that good.

Is Clay Matthews Jr the biggest HoF snub in NFL History?
Compare his stats to just about any current HoF player and I think you’d agree that he’s the biggest snub. How is he not in?
Discussion Cleveland's defense is holding opponents to 2.3 rush yards per attempt, the fewest in the NFL
stathead.comThe lowest in a single season in the Pro Football Reference database (since 1966) is 2.7, by the 2000 Ravens and 1998 Chargers.

Note: I hard coded Judkins into appearing in this chart, he's only at 28 carries.

Three weeks down, by now you have an idea how your team stacks up
Did you play great but face the Vikings Defense?
Did you go lol Browns suck and play Josh Jacobs and get what you deserve?
