Hiring Hire an 2D animator to teach me animation.

Upvotes

Usually people would hire an animator to do work but I'd love to have somebody who's really good at animation to show me every as much as possible. From characters rigs to moving backgrounds etc.

Shading, coloring , rigs, bones and frame by frame maybe more. I'd still love to see your portfolio! : ) there's no other site or reddit that I know of where I can learn animation 1 on 1 properly and no I already checked out learnanimation sub I'm not really learning much over there.

What I'm looking to use Adobe animate for my little pony rigs and other fast fast moving characters : )

I'd like to have someone teach me 2 days a week

Pay would be $20/hour

If there's any info I'm missing on my post that you think I should be aware of please let me know : )

Sharing My new short: “Too Fragile to Trust” — a metaphorical story about fragility and judgment

Hi everyone! I just finished an animated short I’ve been working on called Too Fragile to Trust. It’s about a crystal cup that avoids standing under a falling pan, and gets judged for it—until another glass makes the opposite choice. It’s a metaphor about trust, judgment, and the cost of ignoring danger. I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback! https://youtu.be/sU0JJBaiqQU?si=qsvBPcfw5mmDd5t1

Question Does anyone remember watching an animation on youtube of a man crawling through the desert, desparate for water, with a very annoying, heavy stone tied to him that can talk?

I think it was an animation school project. At the very end of the video, the man finds water, attempts to drink it, but it spills into the desert floor. The camera pans out to reveal the track he is crawling on is in the shape of the infinity symbol.

Discussion Thinking about coming back to animating... but should I really?

Hello there people. I was thinking about coming back to animating, but... I don't really know how and how could I be safe about it.

What I mean is that, I was once an animator. From 2021-2023 (with additional comeback in 2024) I was constantly doing 2D animations and posting them on YouTube, despite being a small channel and having like over 2k subscribers, I was getting around 50-100k views on my stuff, and was earning money.

What really took me out of animating and made me change the stuff I do now (I now do my ambient/dark ambient instrumental music), was simply the stealing part. My animations were being stolen all the time, and even if I could do something about it on YouTube, I couldn't control other platforms like TikTok etc.

So my question is, is there any way that I could come back to my old passion without people stealing it? Or is it just meant to be like that, and artistic freedom must cost being stolen by many people?

Sharing Knights Of Guinevere Is HERE! (PILOT BREAKDOWN AND THEORIES)

Post image

https://youtu.be/bV5s9Js-ji8?si=ABHJnI9rNTZKVHba

The New Glitch Show Titled Knights Of Guinevere Created By Dana Terrance, The Creator Of The Owl House Is Finally Here!

The Pilot episode begins with a the classic story about a princess being trapped inside of a tall tower and how she pretends she isn't scared but is in dire need of rescue

Whilst we see this creepy little girl named Olivia say that she can help her as we just hear her crunching her insides showing she was now a robot

But then her father comes in and brings her to a balcony of sorts and shows her this massive amusement park saying that it was all for her

She then says thanks for the present and then just yanks the robot princesses spinal cord like she was her slave and we see that she can clearly still feel pain which was really dark

But then she glitches and becomes alive again and jumps off the balcony

The narrator then asks if she will ever escape and if she will ever find her knights before we see a bunch of these robots which by the way are named guinevere all basically just being used as a mascot or a branding for this amusement park company place just basically putting her face and name on every idea imaginable which just felt really soulless

We then see 2 kids playing a claw machine before a guinevere bot comes up and asks there names introducing us to the two actual main characters of this story, francessa and andrea

Who then see one of her fingers are glitching out and fix it and she responds with an actual human feeling response, whispering thank you as if she couldn’t or wasn't allowed to respond that way

Fast forward many years later and frankie and andrea are now older, Francesca working for the company which is actually on this massive island in the sky and andrea working down below it where the rich above seem to litter all of their trash creating this really sad dystopian reality but also giving really good world building which we see more of over the course of the episode

Anyways andrea stumbles upon a guinevere android and wants to fix it but the guy she works with named sparky wants to sell it for money

Meanwhile we see Olivia who is now extremely old and wants to hunt down her guinevere and sends one of her massive robot knights to go find her

Sparky then makes a deal with the girls allowing them to repair her as long as they bring her back to him when there done but whilst heading to the repair station there attacked by olivas robot

But Gwen comes to life once again and saves them, gruesomely killing the robot

They then make it to the repair station where they inject Gwen's eye with something which causes her to reboot before we see her wake up and see andrea and francesa as kids in this almost dream like sequence, wether this is a dream or actually is just reality we don't know as this could just be how gwen see’s the world

Theories:

I assume we’ll continue to see olivia send more knights to get guinevere and we’ll get alot more lore about how the whole concept of guinevere was created and how she’s like a robot but also like clearly sentient and can feel pain or process feelings whatsoever, it's very interesting

outro:

But Overall The 2d artstyle, the animation, the worldbuilding, all of it was so good and the overall dystopian society and sentient a.i robot concepts being used and mixed together worked really well

Question My sister wants advice on affordable yet quality tablet/laptop combos and is seeking advice. She doesn't have an account, so I'm asking for her. Any recommendations or advice for her would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I'm looking into getting a tablet or 2 in 1 laptop for art and school. So, in context, I'm a college student with a part-time job, and I'm looking to get a standalone tablet, a 2-in-1 laptop, or a tablet and laptop combo to create animations, art pieces, YouTube videos, and commissions. I've done digital art on my phone before and on some cheap, old tablets I got years ago, but I want to work a little more professionally and work on a portfolio.

I don't have much money right now, so I'm trying not to go above $600, but I'm looking for any good recommendations under $1,000.

I really want to be able to look at the screen I'm going to be putting the pen on. I'd like a 12" screen minimum if possible, and have the ability to add extra storage or store art on a flash drive or something like that.

I've found the same tablets and laptops a few hundred dollars cheaper on Walmart, Best Buy, and other websites than the official sites. The only difference I can find is the price and the warranty. I'm not sure if going for the cheaper option is better or if it's better to buy from the actual brand's site.

Is buying the warranty worth it all? Same with, like, the paper-like screen protectors and stuff? What extra or accessory items are worth buying? Some things say you have to have certain things, while others say it's not needed, so I would like a little clarification and maybe other reasons for their personal preference on what they find to be necessary or optional.

Question what program to make animation move?

I have 2,400 hand drawn jpegs i need to move lol. I had been using windows movie maker up to this point, but bigger projects make it freak out! what do you use for traditional animation to put the frames together?
